This past October, 2020, I traveled to the Eagle Ridge Territory outside of Galena, Illinois. I had just gotten a new Cannon Camera with multiple lenses that I wanted to try out. Disney Concert Hall - Los Angeles
This past June I had the opportunity to take a few rides along the Mississippi River. These particular photo images were taken out by Mud Lake and then a few were taken by Lock and Dam 11 in Dubuque, Iowa. I found the river to be a beautiful blue, along with the sky, the algae a nice contrasting green along with the blades of grass, weeds, and reeds that were popping up and floating along the top of the river. Lily pads and leaves were also in the mix floating along the river bank. Nature at its finest. This is a photo of the waves at Clam Harbour Beach that I made while intentionally moving the camera sideways.
Just saw the interesting shadow play of the leaves on the ground and started to experiment with different compositions ... this is the result :-)

On the night of July 3, 2022 I sat in my daughters front yard that overlooks the city of Dubuque, Iowa. The fireworks are shot over the Mississippi River at quite a distance from where we were watching them being fired up into the night sky. I used many settings on my camera, sports, landscape, creative auto. etc. I got some amazing images that make many of the fireworks look abstract and not your usual fireworks display. The lacy abstract effect of tree branches reflected on the water's surface just before the waterfall caught my eye. I was perched at an odd angle up on the bank with a stone protuding into the view or I might have been able to capture more of it. Taken in Parlor Rock Trail park in Trumbull. Press 'L' for better detail.

Quantum foam or spacetime foam is the fluctuation of spacetime on very small scales due to quantum mechanics. The idea was devised by John Wheeler in 1955. With an incomplete theory of quantum gravity, it is impossible to be certain what spacetime would look like at small scales. However, there is no reason that spacetime needs to be fundamentally smooth. It is possible that instead, in a quantum theory of gravity, spacetime would consist of many small, ever-changing regions in which space and time are not definite, but fluctuate in a foam-like manner.
Wheeler suggested that the Heisenberg uncertainty principle might imply that over sufficiently small distances and sufficiently brief intervals of time, the "very geometry of spacetime fluctuates". These fluctuations could be large enough to cause significant departures from the smooth spacetime seen at macroscopic scales, giving spacetime a "foamy" character.
