These "flames" are sort of the opposite of shadows. They are the images made when
winter afternoon sunlight filters into my garden apartment:
The light is first filtered through bare winter limbs of a of a garden bush.
It then comes in through a floor-level frosted-pane window, and then
through the metal ranks of an old-fashioned floor-standing hot water radiator.
I did a lot of sliding of various kinds.Their purpose was two-fold:
- Enhance color and contrast so that you could better see what I saw with my own eyes.
- Increase drama and mystery. Doing some clone stamping, I have increased the extent to which the "flames" appear to be both "inside" the furniture and also coming out of the furniture and into the room,

the special dark blue lighting was provided for staff and guests at the recent de young museum staff christmas party. i've been my sister's guest for this annual event for the last three years. i changed the foreground gray walls to burgundy and cloned out a light fixture and a projected snowflake image near the mural. .

The 2nd image of series of abstract photographs taken at Reigate fort. The 1st image is Abstract (I). This actually a detail of one of the walls of Reigate Fort.
For those who don’t know, the first photo I take is in the morning. Hence the title and album title. I’m doing something different today since it’s Slider Sunday and I don’t have much time to do anything else as I will be late to church. Everyone have a beautiful and Safe day! Thank you for your visit, faves and comments. I really appreciate your support even if I may not get back to thank everyone individually. 😊😉
The #MacroMondays theme for this coming Monday, 6/30, is #motionblur and I was determined to do this with my little #iPhoneSE2– not an easy task.
Tried a dragonfly’s wings, waggling my fingers, turning an eggtimer/ hourglass over, etc… .. This is a little personal fan on its highest setting- no surprise that the fan blades are blue- right? If you look closely you can see the back, too…
Was telling a bud that I have another fan that’s never been used but I figured the dust was sort of cool and interesting.
Will put up context and size verification on Monday.
Btb, the white arc line is I think the dust on the outer edges of the fan blades - as they spin they leave a white line— cool, huh?
For Sliders Sunday I pumped up the blue a tad, I’ll confess.

Detail shot of the 25 de Abril suspension bridge in Lisbon, Portugal. Painted in 'International Orange', I believe that it is the largest suspension bridge in the world. It is compared to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. It was opened in 1966 as the Salazar Bridge but renamed in 1974.

This is an edit I made today (Dec 20, 2022) of an old photo of mine. The image is of part of the surface of a pond on a clear, sunny November day. The subject matter is the pond reflection of the trunk of one tree plus its autumn leaves, and the leaves on several trees growing close to the one whose trunk is shown.
The edit chiefly involved inverting and cropping the image (so that the tree is right-side up and well-placed). Then increasing the contrast and sharpening the luminance.
