This is a close up shot of a leaf from a variegated ginger plant. When I first started working on this image I was unhappy with the original shot. The highlights (glare from the sky) were not exposed properly. As I tried to darken them a bit, the highlighted areas took on a blue color and that is when an idea formed. I began playing with some of the artistic filters in Photoshop. It was a fun experiment as I had never used any of them before. This is the end result of my fun with filters. The vein of the leaf became the perfect "road" (I gave it a little twist) in this very abstract ginger leaf "landscape"

The combination of coloured paper and a very shallow DOF can produce an amazing abstract formation, giving the proper lighting is available.

If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment.

I really like this abstract...

It is a zoom of an old red rowboat in the ocean. Very calm water, bright sun.

Abstract Autumn. Gran Paradiso National Park, Valle d'Aosta (Italy).

Gran Paradiso National Park (Italian: Parco nazionale del Gran Paradiso, French: Parc national du Grand-Paradis) is an Italian national park in the Graian Alps, between the Aosta Valley and Piedmont regions. The park is named after Gran Paradiso mountain (4,061 m), which is located in the park.

There are more than 100 bird species in the park, including Eurasian eagle-owl, rock ptarmigan, alpine accentor, and chough. Golden eagles nest on rocky ledges, and sometimes in trees. Wallcreeper are found on steep cliffs. There are black woodpeckers and nutcrackers in the park's woodlands.

The park supports many species of butterflies including apollos, peak whites, and southern white admirals.

Alpine Ibex graze in the abundant mountain pastures in summer, and descend to lower elevations in winter. Along with the ibex, the animal species found in the park include ermine, weasel, hare, Eurasian badger, alpine chamois, wolf (recently arrived from Central Italy) and maybe even lynx. Alpine Marmot forage on plants along the snow line.

Needed a bit of a spring boost, so i took a look through some older shots. I love the smooth abstract feel of this shot, the blend of colours work well.
