'A mesmerising visual and aural feast' (Scotsman). The live chemistry between renowned virtuoso percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie and acclaimed Russian visual artist Maria Rud delivers a sound and image fusion that is truly unforgettable. Maria’s evolving paintings are beamed live, by projection artist Ross Ashton, onto the walls of the quadrangle of George Heriot’s School – a 17th-century architectural gem revealed for the first time to Festival audiences.

Edinburgh weather did it's best to dampen spirits, but the art/percussion fusion was magical enough to overcome the pelting rain!

Weon estoy seriamente enamorado de este grupo.

AniMotion - Edinburgh Fringe Day 1

The Animotion Show launched at George Heriot’s School in Edinburgh last night bringing together the music of Dame Evelyn Glennie and the art of Maria Rud. As the third member of the team, I am behind the scenes creating the video map and diffusing the images.

This year we are doing 16 nights at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the audience reactions up to now have been excellent. The show has been chosen by The Scotsman newspaper as one of the ‘Top Ten Shows’ to see at the Edinburgh Fringe. They described it as a, “visual and aural feast”.

There are still tickets available at the Edinburgh Fringe Box Office and on the door.

Old phosphate mines now provide valuable fossil evidence for palaeontologists.

Because a phosphatière holds fossil bones from a limited span of time, they provide important snapshots of the fauna and flora of the epoch when they filled up (they form in karst topography).

The phosphate was once mined as fertilizer, and phosphate pits are often discovered by their influence on vegetation.
