Too much light pollution where I live (and in most of Belgium) to get a picture of the Milky Way. So, I thought I'd draw it. First attempt.

"[Do not make me hex you!]" Gáddjá calls out to the reindeer before silently cursing to herself, suddenly very aware of how much effort her departed Benne exerted wrangling the creatures and providing for the two of them.

But now she was alone, in a snow storm, trying to reign in one last deer before night fell on them completely

This is only about my second attempt at waterfall photography because there are not many down this way. This is a lovely spot called Osmington Mills on the Jurassic Coast. We were in Weymouth yesterday for an event. I knew it was going to be a cloudless sunset so I had an idea of coming here and filling the frame with the waterfall with some early evening light.

And I think its paid off with the help of my KASE circular polariser/6 stop filter.

I will definatly return on a more atmospheric day, lots of interesting rock ledges too.

ps i'm not recommending any of these cookery adventures. they suit my personal taste. photographing to encourage myself to eat more healthily ...

i've created a group www.flickr.com/groups/cooking_is_my_hobby/ to gather ideas and encourage myself to continue with healthy eating by learning from others if you're interested in cooking, sometimes or a lot, or enjoy the cooking of others, you're always welcome ...

I posted a frame-filler of the male Black-winged Stilt, so here's a frame-filler of the female. The first fully documented breeding was in 1945 when three pairs were at Nottingham Sewage Works, raising four young. Breeding attempts since then have been sporadic, but with increasing frequency. This year there have been about half a dozen breeding attempts. But generally speaking they are still only a scarce visitor to Britain, and vary in numbers from year to year. Occasional birds stay for long periods, such as "Sammy the Stilt" frequented the Titchwell area of North Norfolk for more than a decade (Aug 1993 - May 2005) and provided many bird listers with a welcome year tick. This pair have moved around various wetland sites in South and West Yorkshire and I photographed them at Adwick Washlands.

Couldn't stay away from colour for long:)

to untangle the lights and I got tangled.I hope someone finds me soon lol ♥♥

Attempt to clean weed ridden lake.

This is my first attempt at long exposures. Just got a variable ND filter and trying to learn to use it. I am finding out that depends on were the sun is will determine if the dark "X" appears or not. Also, I just recently cleaned the camera and um...I guess not as clean as I thought!

First attempt at panning with my new DSLR in Oct. 04. Saw him at the last minute, lifted my camera and prayed that it worked.

Last week, I talked about writing a piece about why we embrace the imperfections of film photography. And then I lost it. Well, I re-wrote it and turned it into my next post on Substack.

This is a shot a took in 2015 on Ilford Pan F+. My fixer crapped out and I didn't know it until I scanned the roll. So I fixed again and the problem dissolved itself in fresh fixer.

'Attempt Upon'

Camera: Imperial Savoy

Film: Ilford Pan F+

Process: Rodinal 1+50; 10.5min Major Fixer Failure

First attempt using a 10 stop filter, might take a bit of time to get completely used to it.

Another attempt at copying one of my Grandfathers fine photo's. Next time I'Il use a film camera like he did , although it will probably be 35mm not 120 .

Botallack Mine , a submarine mine produced Tin, Copper and Arsenic . It descends to a depth of approximately 250 fathoms below sea level, and extends some 400 metres under the sea. It closed because of the collapse in mineral prices in 1895. It is now owned by The National Trust, and forms part of UNESCO's world heritage site extending up the north side of Cornwall into Devon.

my first ever try at steampunk, i don't think i got it quite right.

I'm newbie in film world, , this shot was not really good, few blur, still have many things to learn.

Attempt #2 shoot on strawberry drops. To my surprise, my wife still hasn't finished the strawberries in the fridge, and I'm taking advantage of it to try it on a different shaped vase, and also a box cover as the background instead of my black poster board. Comparing this with the old one side by side, this really puts the old one to shame.

I still find things to improve, and I most likely need a 3rd and 4th source of lighting to get this right. I might also need a lint free cloth to clean up between attempts... but for now, I'm pretty happy with the results. Next time i'll try another fruit... *grin*

This shot took about four attempts. Clearly I must have been struggling with the altitude as I managed to compose it wrong or mistime the delayed shutter release.

A few days ago I had a new lens is a Zenitar 16mm. Yesterday I managed to test it in martial terms: wide angle, sharpness gorgeous

This guy is sick of waiting to finally transform himself into a butterfly and be able to fly. Using some balloons he tries to take off from the ground and see the world from above ...

But obviously he miscalculated the correct size and number of balloons to get into the air. Try again or keep on waiting buddy! ;-)

Another attempt at pulling out the mineral deposit colors on the Moon's surface. If you get a decent enough image, you can tease out its colors by using saturation layers in Photoshop.

The blue areas are rich with ilmenite, containing iron, titanium, and oxygen. Orange and purple-ish areas contain smaller amounts of titanium and iron. Whiter areas are overexposed, sunlit areas.

My first attempt of shooting a video and uploading it to Flickr. As long as it took, I doubt if I do this very often! It is a little shaky, but I hope you still enjoy viewing it. It's fun to watch the hummers take turns at taking their morning baths in our small waterfall in our back yard.

A busy day, I'll be back as soon as I can to visit your photos! Have a great day!

In an attempt to annihilate my digital camera's sensor, i pointed it directly at the sun and achieved a nice "special effect". I edited slightly afterward, otherwise, SOOC.

had a go at catching the stars , didn't turn out too bad for a first attempt , illuminated the trees with my iPhone torch ha ! makes you realise how small we actually are !

I hold my hand up and freely admit that Eiona Roberts is the inspiration here. Mind you my lunar attempt is feeble in comparison to hers! I've always loved the night sky ( just as I love anything water/flower/wildlife/landscape/sky I think you get my drift!) Please don't look any closer at the image as the resolution isn't good enough!
