My attempt at the "Smile on Saturday" theme "postcards & greeting cards"
Shot with a "Pako 91 mm F 4.5" (enlarging) lens on a Canon EOS R5.
Attempted this night capture at 5 seconds and ISO 4000 to keep from blowing out the lighthouse in the light from the parking lot. Was still able to get some of that Milky Way beyond that was out over the Atlantic Ocean beyond the lighthouse.
My attempt at the "Crazy Tuesday" theme "Low Key".
Don't be fooled by the giant marketing certain other fruits have at their disposal... This is a tomato (and certainly not a pipe)!
Shot with a Kodak "Micro-File Ektar 63 mm" lens on a Canon EOS R5.
Conditions were perfect: 80% chance of rain and strong winds. What could be better? For shooting osprey, nothing. Rain suit for me and my camera and a surprising a lot of other adventurous souls showed up for the show. The pelicans seemed to being doing better than the osprey, dive after dive while the osprey were out in force looking but not catching much. This one did well however, and one greedy pelican made an attempted steal. The osprey pulled up up an away!
My attempt at the "Macro Mondays" theme "Tradition".
I tried to include two christmas traditions in our family: The first one is crafting things from paper (as you can see my youtube channel on paper crafting might still have to wait a few years... 😅) and the second one is the whole family taking a walk to a random tree in the woods to have a little celebration outside!
This tree is around 28 mm in height.
Shot with a Fuji "Fujinon-EFC 108 mm F 5.6" (enlarging) lens on a Canon EOS R5.
My attempt at the "Looking Close... on Friday" theme "A Flower's Backside".

Gulls are notorious for attempted thievery which provides terrific photo opportunities!

My attempt at the "Macro Mondays" theme "Necklace".
Just had to start one last try with this tiny inconspicuous lens which creates such a wonderful smooth rendering in my eyes..
Why, Agfa? Why wouldn't you build this lens in series? Or if you did, what is it called, and where was it used?
Listening to "Videotape" by Radiohead while shooting this… hence the title:
They never recorded this live version, which is completely different from the studio version. What a pity… while both are great in their own way (and connected through a hidden syncopated rhythm - there‘s a video on that detail…) this one would certainly be worthy of being recorded as well!

When I'm at the pearly gates
This'll be on my videotape, my videotape
Mephistopheles is just beneath
And he's reaching up to grab me
This is one for the good days
And I have it all here
In red, blue, green
Red, blue, green
You are my centre
When I spin away
Out of control on videotape
On videotape
On videotape
On videotape
On videotape
This is my way of saying goodbye
'Cause I can't do it face to face
I'm talking to you before
No matter what happens now
You shouldn't be afraid
Because I know today has been
The most perfect day I've ever seen
(Seems like someone has enjoyed reading "Faust" by Goethe 😅)
Shot with an Agfa "M 3525 6/3" lens on a Canon EOS R5.
My attempt at the "Smile on Saturday" theme "eggs from chickens & co"
Shot with a Steinheil "Oscillo-Quinon 75 mm F 1.9" lens on a Canon EOS R5.
An attempt, to depict the landscape of the beautiful Baltic Sea island of Rügen in Second Life.
Ein Versuch, die Landschaft der wunderschönen Ostsee Insel Rügen in Second Life darzustellen.
My attempt at the "Macro Mondays" theme "Radiant".
HSS!
This shows a tiny part of a 4K TV panel (around 5 mm or 1/5 inch), so you can clearly recognize each element of the RGB subpixels. It‘s interesting to see so much color and realize that the actual image looks quite different to they eye (probably something close to a white tone).
Shot with a Tokyo Kogaku "Dietzgen-Topcor 25 mm F 2.8" on a Canon EOS R5.
This is my second attempt at layering. I used two different textures by dog ma, my source of inspiration for textured photos. In my humble opinion......she is the queen. :0) I love this photo of hers......... love this!!
Please give me your honest opinions! :0) This was done using Picnik.
Jasper attempts to gnaw on his giggle ball birthday present (he turned 8 on Sunday). The thing is rock-hard so I don't think he'll be doing much damage to it. Apparently it is fun to chase though.
My attempt at the "Crazy Tuesday" theme "Belt and Buckle".
I‘m not totally sure if this makes any sense 😅 but something about the shape of the buckle made me think of a mousetrap… and about the situation where you‘ve eaten just a little bit too much and the belly feels a bit trapped… you get the gist!
I know it probably doesn‘t look like a lot of sliding was going on here, but apart from some necessary retouching I actually invested quite some time in getting the colors the way I imagined!

Shot with a (Tomioka) "Tominon MC 51 mm F 4" (enlarging) lens on a Canon EOS R5.
I uploaded a photo this morning, 'Storm in the polder'. On that occasion, it was too cloudy to get the movements in the clouds nicely visible.
This afternoon, the sky opened up, so I went again to the same spot, for a second attempt. A lot more satisfying I think!
Despite the satisfying results, I learned a valuable lesson about the boundaries of my (cheap) filter set (Stealth Gear). Massive colour deviation into red, purple and magenta. Only heavy processing in Lightroom and Photoshop saved the picture. I'm anxious for your comments.. what do you think of it?
My first attempt at firework photography, and what better to try it out tonight at Liverpool Pier Head, even better the Cunard ship Queen Victoria is on a 2 day visit, was not sure about this image when i first saw it, its like two separate pictures, but this was due to the severe brightness of the fireworks hence just a couple of seconds exposure was needed.
I was attempting to photograph a group of deer when all of a sudden, they were startled by something. I didn't notice until some time later, as the sun was setting, a coyote had laid down in the grass about 50 yards from me. The coyote didn't see me so I crawled on my stomach towards it, pushing my camera as I went, running against the clock as the sun had already gone behind the trees. I got to within 30 feet of it and got some nice photos.
As the field turn to darkness, it eventually got up, had a nice long stretch and trotted into the nearby woods to start the nights hunt.
We have red kites flying over our house most days, and this afternoon I decided to have a go at taking an image of one. I have aimed my camera at them before, but not had a recognisable result. Today I used continuous auto focusing and tracking using the hi speed facility, and after some post processing managed to capture one. I am now encouraged to try again.
Gulls line the cliffs on Skomer waiting for the Puffins to return with fish to feed their young..... and mug them. This Puffin aborted the landing attempt and made another circuit of the Wick to try again....
A real grey and wet day....
I struggled with this picture. I wanted some bright highlights in the background but the tops of the stalks of grass are lost in the clutter.
This is my first attempt at macro with flowers, I know it's not great as there's nothing in sharp focus but I liked the colours...
Attempt at Abstract Layers for Compositionally Challenged
Shot of a sunflower with a second photo of a broken window, and Infrared filter applied, all done with the Ribbet editor.
It is 45 years ago today when I attempted to view Melbourne's total solar eclipse from the backyard. Sadly Melbourne’s fickle spring weather spoilt the party so I ended up running in and out of the house to also watch the event on TV.
The 8” f7 Newtonian telescope tube was purchased from Astro Optical Supplies in Sydney. My parents were very kind to drive me up and back for the purchase. The tube just fitted across the back seat of the car where I proudly nursed it all the way home. I built the mount with instructions from a book bought at the same time. For me it was a great achievement as I’ve never been a real handyman. The picture was taken by my sister with my Olympus OM-1 on Kodak Tri-x film which I used to develop and print myself in our bathroom.
The white circle marks on the fence next to the BBQ were created by Rod Marsh’s misses as wicket keeper 😉
