Deinodryinus atriventris wasp attacking a leafhopper nymph of the Genus Gyponana.

Wasp Size: ~5mm

As I watched this small wasp hop from plant-to-plant through my camera's viewfinder, I managed to capture many frames of her discovering and parasitizing this surprised leafhopper nymph! When their encounter was over, the wasp simply walked away, leaving the stunned but alive hopper to be slowly consumed by the wasp's offspring.

Photographed handheld with a Canon Rebel XTi (400D) and Canon 100mm macro lens.

The Verbal Attack.

Face to face loud outcries, whirlwind of a thousand devastated groans,

surging insolent verbs, crushing thy sheltered boundaries of straits,

schowtens are swallowed in thee midst of thous tremendous escorted coasts,

scattered prides, disasters are thy furnished rewards,

too læt to call upon even Tolumnius to fight at thy side,

troubled oppressions are innumerable ordained,in thy residence of slumbering rage,

indignation disturbs thous venturing minds to a unctuous flame bearth,

threats engorge thy branches to a death sap partaking to thy blásphēmos dreg,

rise up from thy pit of oppugnare to thy place of rejoicing awe,

trust thy righteous judgments of enlightened rewards for all,

praising heaven mercy endures, congregations are one,

dignity in thy assembly, a hymn is pleased,

established thy prosperity in thy humble ones on knees that are pleading for redemption's salvation's praise!

Thy verbal attacks continue on none the less, deceitful ashes thrown on thy coals,

till our numbered days end,all of us sheep shall climb to exalt on thy highest of mounts,

all thy saints continue to teach,to ears that can't,no refuse to hear.

The A-3B Skywarrior, seen on the left, entered service in the fifties as a nuclear carrier-based bomber, operated by so-called heavy attack squadrons. By the early sixties, its survivability was in doubt, as new Soviet air defences were developed. It was to replaced by a new supersonic bomber, the A-5 Vigilante. When the nuclear roll was transferred to submarine-launched ballistic missiles, these jets were re-rolled as reconnaissance aircraft, known as the RA-5C, seen on the right. Both were some of the largest aircraft to serve on carriers.

The composition of air wings changes over time, but even as new aircraft are introduced, some squadron remain part of the same air wing for many years. Heavy attack units, however, tended to change wings on a regular basis. The heavy attack squadron that was part of Carrier Air Wing 8 aboard USS Forrestal in 1965, flying the A-3 represented by my model, was VAH-6 Fleurs. By coincidence, in 1978, now aboard USS Nimitz, Carrier Air Wing 8 had the same squadron assigned, now renamed RVAH-6 and flying Vigilantes including the one represented by my model.

Another composition of the rain beads that were on the hood of our cars at sunset taken with the 420mm combo lens and TC. Some pretty cool patterns from the sunset and cloudy sky above as well as the beading rain.

Not a chance ~~ that squirrel is way too smart for our shepherd Roma. Time and time again, she has s l o w l y inched her way to within eight or ten feet of the squirrel, and then, in a flash, the squirrel is up a tree, chattering excitedly at a frustrated Roma on the ground below

I put the focus on the squirrel because I wanted him to stand out, so you wouldn't thing this was just a picture of Roma's back end...

Watch out for the fearsome Phagebot’s attack! Armed with viral spore launchers and sharp spider legs, the Phagebot is an ideal machine to abet Symnella in her devious mission to infect muscle tissue. Affairs of the heart can be complicated!

I had been observing this young male Red-tailed hawk perched in a Torrey Pine tree for about an hour when he suddenly decided to launch an attack a squirrel in the undergrowth below the tree.

I noticed the hawk had blood on his talons and later found out from another photographer (who had been in the area earlier) that the hawk had captured a squirrel that morning, but it had gotten away from him. When I took this shot, it was obvious the hawk was intent on recapturing his lost meal.

For reasons unknown to us, Nex and Stringer would never see another release after 2012, despite two full waves of sets they could easily have been integrated into. With Bulk growing increasingly orange and Stringer’s lack of unified color scheme, my belief is that Nex and Stringer underperformed in BREAKOUT as the two cheaper sets of the second wave and were cut from the lineup for the remainder of Hero Factory’s run.

Until today…

With a helmet commissioned from @galva_nize_ I present BRAIN ATTACK Nex. He is of the same height class as Stormer and Surge and is equipped with an Energy Sword for melee combat and a shoulder mounted missile launcher (inspired by @ems_mocs) to fend off the evil Brains invading Makuhero City and the galaxy beyond.

I have taken great lengths to keep the design language of the other BRAIN ATTACK sets:

- Melee weapons

- Silver or Gunmetal secondary color

- Transparent armor piece

- Hero Core Clamp and Visor

This build also emulates the arm seen on his 2.0 form, only this time in silver! The shoulder addon is a bootleg part.

Building this MOC is honestly a dream come true for me. I’m glad I can finally give Nex the form he deserves.
