What reads at first glance as repetition reveals itself, on closer inspection, as a carefully modulated composition. This mid-rise residential block in the Mission District deploys a curtain-wall logic more commonly associated with commercial office towers, transplanted here into the housing typology with mixed but visually compelling results. The façade is organized into four primary bays, each stepping slightly proud of the datum plane, creating shallow vertical fins that catch light differently throughout the day. The blue-grey color treatment — whether original or photographic — suits the building well, emphasizing the cool aluminum framing against the recessed spandrel panels. What distinguishes this elevation is the penthouse treatment: each bay terminates in a glazed volume that breaks the roofline with a modest flourish, a nod to articulation in a design that otherwise prizes discipline. The window grid within each bay is genuinely sophisticated — fixed lites paired with operable sash in an irregular but balanced Mondrian-esque arrangement that avoids the deadening uniformity of cheaper multifamily construction. The dark vertical slots separating the bays provide essential shadow relief, preventing the whole from flattening into wallpaper. In a neighborhood that has absorbed decades of development pressure, this building holds the street with a certain cold confidence.

I was at a conference in Cavecreek/Carefree area this weekend and I took an early morning stroll to capture the sunrise.

WIP, I always loved the official Ralph McQuarrie concept art, and after his designs for the AT-AT were used in rebels, I always wanted to do a MOC on this. This is the head, although I aimed a bit smaller, it's still gotten pretty big. It is still a bit flimsy, so it needs some work to improve stability, but I have to be careful for the weight.

p.s. it is still missing some tiles (I ran out 2 x 3), and a blue part, offcourse these will be replaced.

At the end / there is no feeling / no sound / no sight / but just / the end.

At Halcyon Lake. I spotted a heron first and snuck in for a close shot. Then I realized this Red Tail was sitting just 5 ft above. The 400f5.6L was perfect!

My own version of the UCS AT ST. Head is rotational and somewhat angle-able although it can effect the weight transfer and balance. It does stand on its own 2 legs without having to be propped up and has been for the last 6 months without sagging....although there is quite a load being put on the 2 technic beams / shins behind the feet.

Its been completed / built since xmas and finally got chance to take some pics today. Features a full interior as previously posted last year.

This is ONE of if not my all time Fav Starwars vehicles.

Fleet number 1129 was seen at the east end of George Street, starting to make the turn on to Saint Andrew Square. The vehicle - new in 2019 in Airlink Express 24/7 livery - is one of four that have instead now been given the white treatment. The spire of St. Andrew’s and St. George’s West Church rises behind the vehicle, which is passing the offices of Aberdeen Standard Investments

At last we had a fine day yesterday! It was sunny and warm - better than the sunny spells forecast. It looked nice when I woke so I headed down to this reserve after breakfast to see the butterflies I had wanted to see for a while.

There were lots of butterflies around and only 2 other people -who were together.

There were lots of these as there have been almost every year except last year. As usual at this location (nowhere else I know) they often sat around low down on the majaram. Sadly almost all had lots of damage, so though I took numerous photos the butterflies rarely looked that good. This was the freshest I saw of dozens.

At 9 AM the breakfast was ending. So 42 years ago. Mmm... take your place and enjoy your breakfast.

This photo is made with a analog camera: Hasselblad 500 c.

I made everything by myself: Photo, Develop and enlarging the photo. After this I scanned the photo.
