Located at the entrance to the Governor Bebb MetroPark in Butler County, Ohio, the Governor Bebb Park Covered Bridge was originally built in 1867-68 and served traffic in the county until it was moved to the park in 1966 and rebuilt in 1970. Also known as the State Line Covered Bridge, the 125-foot-long structure was closed at the time of my visit due to structural issues. I stopped by the bridge a couple of weeks ago while on a family visit in the Buckeye State. Information from Covered Bridges: Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia by Miriam Wood and David Simmons.
... a Barn Owl in flight!
I've wanted this shot for some time and at last I got it! Now, I want even better shots. The sun had just set and it was dusk when I spotted the Owl in flight. So I set my aperture at f/4, ISO at 5000, and left my shutter speed at 1/1000.
I was hand holding my 500 mm lens, which is quite heavy, that's why I had such a high shutter speed. It's hard for me not to move.
Next time, I'll bring a monopod and try a lower shutter speed so I can reduce the ISO some. But then again, I have to spot the Owl!

Last friday, I shot this car and therefore got to drive it almost all day, and I loved it!
I was really impressed by the performance of the car, due to it's subtle and elegant lines.
She's such a beauty, but like the owner told me when I picked up the car: "She drives like a dragon, especially when she's cold."
I know the car has a V12 engine that puts out 470HP, but it still impresses me how mean this car sounds as you start it up, while she looks so classy.
The attention you get is not what I expected at all, I've driven the LP670 SV and that's a screamer so I had expected to be rather discreet in this car but she turned out to be quite a neck-twister aswell. I had a blast driving and shooting this car, so you'll be seeing more of this shoot soon.

As I was taking shots of this beautiful Titmouse bird while he came to visit, as he was eating seeds he noticed my slight movements, but I was still able to get some awesome images of such a wonderful bird with so much beauty. Hope Y'all like it. !!!

It's approximately 15:50 on Saturday 5th June 1976 and Class 52 diesel-hydraulic locomotive No. D1022 WESTERN SENTINEL is about to leave platform 3 at Bristol Temple Meads with an ECS working to London Paddington. The fact that I can deduce that much information from my records at this stage in my gricing "career" is remarkable in itself. I don't know the identity of the "Peak" but, ruling out Class 46s, candidates are as follows: 45008/012/019/024/026/038/046/047/137; I can't tell whether it's an ETH-fitted loco which would narrow it down even further (as presumably do the split headcode boxes).
If an old slide seems good enough to share I liberate it from its card (in the case of Kodak) mount so I can clean it properly with a soft brush, and this also has the benefit of exposing the complete frame for re-scanning. In this case I was thrilled to discover that the extra detail revealed around the periphery includes my old friend Mark, in his school uniform, on the far right. It's part of the shot that hasn't been seen by anyone for nearly forty years. And yes, in case you're wondering, both Mark and I went to schools that had lessons on a Saturday morning.
Update September 2016: thanks to The Gang of 3 for narrowing down the identity of the "Peak" to either 45046 or 45047.

Iowa Northern Railway train BUWA has IANR 4100, 3809, 3802, and 3803 for power on this December Sunday to make the run from Butler Yard near Shell Rock, Iowa to Bryant Yard in Waterloo. The train had 75 cars out of Butler, but have brought the head 15 into the CN Waterloo Yard for interchange. In the background EJE 667, still in orange, is paused in between it's duties as the yard switch engine, and a few other motors are laying around at the engine facility including EJE 658 in CN paint.
The CN is in the process of purchasing the IANR but is still awaiting STB approval, and so this is perhaps a bit of a look into the future. Meanwhile the past is well represented in this view too, as the Illinois Central Roundhouse here in the background has been present in at least in some form, (it's had stalls added and removed over the years) back to as far as 1901 (and possibly longer, it was hard to pin down a good date for the roundhouse construction from just some quick online research).
The Iowa Northern Railway uses the CN Mainline in Waterloo and Cedar Falls for a few miles from Waterloo West to Cedar Falls Junction as part of an arrangement going back to the 1980s and a highway project that saw the consolidation of some lines in Waterloo to make room for US 218. Normally from what I've seen the interchange work is typically done by the IANR in either direction at some siding tracks just west of Waterloo West and so they don't come into the yard like this. But occasionally when traffic warrants the CN will have the IANR come directly into the "A Yard" here at the Waterloo Terminal to make their setout and pickup as seen here. They would tie onto a cut of cars and shove back out of the yard to the rest of their train waiting on the mainline.
I had gone out after this BUWA even though it was likely to be a cloudy day because IANR 4100 on the point is one of the road's newest units (arrived to the IANR in August 2023 per some online notes, though it's originally a C&O unit) and still looks pretty sharp. But it was a nice bonus to get them making this less-common move, and this angle normally would be a heavily backlit-view if the sun were present.
A few changes at the Stagecoach Whithorn outstation since my last visit three years ago. The Volvo B7 Plaxton Profile's have gone replaced by three Volvo B9R Plaxton Elites for the School services. Here AE10 JTV backs into the depot after working a School contract.

West Coast Railways 47813 leads the Northern Belle service, 1Z81 14:05 Newport (Gwent) to Kidderminster with Class 57, 57316 dead on the rear as it powers onto the Worcester Line at Abbotswood Junction.
I fell in love with the La Colombe cups and saucers while in NYC this past December. They're not available for purchase, I inquired. At least I have photos. :)

At the beginning of August I spent another afternoon/evening trying to photograph wild Red Foxes.
The weather was a mix of rain showers and blue sky.
There was quite a wait for the first Red Fox to show up.
This one was a young Fox who was very nervous and only spent a short time in view.
Baltimore & Annapolis Railroad Brill car #205 pauses at Jones for a couple of passengers heading south to Annapolis sometime in late 1948 or 49.
The dingy appearance and lack of destination sign in the box was indicative of the state of affairs on the B&A in the post-war years. What was supposed to have been a Phoenix rising from the ashes of the onetime WB&A had been mortally wounded by the State of Maryland when Governor Ritchie Highway was opened to traffic in 1939. The new dual highway siphoned off riders from the interurban line at an alarming rate. The private automobile's draw along with publicly funded paved roadways was enticing to folks who desired the freedom of going wherever and whenever they wanted to go. Note that although there are four people at the station here, only two appear to be headed for the rear entrance of car #205. The Baltimore & Annapolis Railroad was granted permission in late 1949 to end rail passenger service replacing the trolleys with new busses built by GM. The final trolley operated on February 5, 1950. Freight operations would continue but with a single diesel electric switcher from GE as the wires would come down shortly after the conversion to buses. Freight service continued to Annapolis until 1968 when the trestle over the Severn River was condemned and deemed too expensive to repair for what little freight traffic remained. The Naval Academy had switched their coal fired plant to oil a few years earlier. Slowly the line was cut back to Arnold and then Jones where LCL freight was unloaded from boxcars here on the siding alongside B&A Blvd (which is the roadway to the immediate right). After Tropical Storm Agnes wreaked havoc with flooding in June 1972 the little short line petitioned the ICC for complete abandonment. It was denied and the railroad reluctantly rebuilt parts of the roadbed and bridges but only to Glen Burnie MD. The remainder to Annapolis was taken out of service although not abandoned entirely as the rails remained in place if you knew where to look for them. Eventually the B&A sold the portion from Glen Burnie to Annapolis to the State of Maryland who repurposed the line into a bike trail ending in Arnold MD on the other side of the Severn River from Annapolis. The B&A folded up in 1990 when the State of MD took the remaining line and converted it to Light Rail. One can ride an "interurban car" once again over a portion of the Baltimore & Annapolis (and also a portion of the WB&A) but only to Glen Burnie.

In 2015 LEGO commissioned me to create content for a web project that unfortunately never came to light. LEGO shared a number of my creations in Fall 2016, and now I can finally reveal the others. They're Star Wars vehicle sculptures with a simple motion feature; this one is titled AT-AT on Hoth.

At about 15 million light-years distance this marvel of spiral arms is amazing. As the light leaves the galaxy on its journey to the Earth the Sable-tooth Tiger is roaming our planet.
I keep finding myself drawn to this bit of cliff, the first section that meets the sea at the end of the Peacehaven undercliff walk. Shot by moonlight at the last full moon.
This little boat just happened to pass by as I was snapping the sunset from our beach restaurant in Petra, Lesbos, Greece.The island in the background is the Island of St George, nicknamed Rabbit Island.
There are some very nice sunset opportunities here as the sun goes down behind the island itself.

SNCF 2325 pulls train number 5741, the diverted Paris Austerlitz to Cerbère sleeper (via Montpellier Saint-Roch and Sete), across the bridge at Port-la-Nouvelle on the morning of April 18th, 2025 at 08:27.
A 4km trek uphill to a private viewpoint at our resort at Nelliyampathy, seemed tiresome in the beginning as it was very steep, but as the sheer beauty of Nature slowly unfolded before our very eyes, it became an extravaganza of visual treat, which seemed to pump enough adrenaline to take us to the summit. The sunrise along with the amazing cloud pattern at the summit closely resembled a Gateway to Heaven. The visual wonder which we witnessed is even beyond this picture captured by the camera...

Photography is my EYE, my love, my soul. Now is very important to me trying to see something, even with my eyes blurred, dilated, bad....and I just see through my camera.I don't know what will happen tomorrow, if I'll see clearly again or not. I don't know anything so I keep trying feel alive.
