Blick in das ASm Depot Langenthal vom 24. Oktober 2016.
Für den nächsten Einsatz bereit standen:
Be 4/4 103, ehemals BTI/SZB
Be 4/4 14, ehemals Frauenfeld Wil Bahn/FW
Be 4/8 112 "VENUS"

Stage lighting for the Aare-Seeland-mobil gravel train on this autumn morning: Class Be 4/4 325 and 323 are returning to their home station in Sisselen after delivering three wagons with 105 tons of gravel from the pit in Finsterhennen to the concrete factory in Sutz. While mount Chasseral in the background is covered by dark clouds, the sun breaks through a little cloud hole just at the right time to enlight the remarkable little freight train.
Up to three times a day, the 1965 oldtimers take the 10 kilometer journey to Sutz and back, replacing more than 6000 truck tours a year. To start this freight service in 1999, ASm aqcuired six lorry cars from the german brown-coal mine Hagenwerder near Görlitz.
Unfortunately, the gravel-pit in Finsterhennen is already nearly empty, so that also the gravel shuttle service will come to an end soon.

52Frames | Week 41: “Time” (Runner-Up)
A quiet afternoon at ASM International HQ with my daughter—wandering the grounds beneath Buckminster Fuller’s iconic geodesic dome. I handed her one of my cameras and we spent the day talking, laughing, and chasing light. This long exposure captures the slow drift of clouds across the sky, a subtle nod to the theme. Time felt suspended for a while—just the two of us, sharing lenses and stories.
