Two siblings sleeping, tired from a day's work in RL. Precious moments that I can share with my brother. We talk, we share words of comfort and a hug to go to sleep RL.
This is another capture of Tofu on the kitchen table. I took while i waited for him to fall asleep as I needed a photo for the 'naptime' theme of the Happy Caturday group. For quite while he was too distracted to sleep due to bird activity in front of the backdoor but finally I got my photo of the sleeping Dragon too (which is the one I posted yesterday).

The lion was asleep when I stood at his enclosure but I waited a while and hoped that he would move. Finally he at least opened his eyes because a leaf fell on him and by the way he looked at me I could tell that he thought it was me who had woken him up.
This morning was starting to put me asleep with its mostly cloudy aspect, until I saw this view. They say a photographer should always look behind the camera; the same thing applies to glancing to either side. Shot looking south toward the Benjamin Franklin Bridge in Philadelphia.
Extreme PS manipulation of a photo of my son, Henry taking a break on a recent northwoods hike. "Texture Wrap" via the displace filter. The bg and texture is weathered granite formations prevalent in this locale.

one of the things that made me happiest about this image, aside from seeing this barred owl seemingly undisturbed in its slumber, was that I could see buds on trees already set for Springtime ! In mid December, that is a cheery and promising sight to see :-)
One of the most beautiful moments I have ever witnessed— this image was taken at a magical time, when sunrise and sunset seemed to blend into one.
We all encounter moments of self-doubt
We will hold loneliness by its hand and dance on its toes.
We will stare at the ceiling unnecessarily for hours
before finally falling asleep.
If sleeping at all...
We will clothe ourselves in sadness, and we will feel its weight bearing down upon our shoulders.
We may spend days, weeks, years even, yearning for a breakthrough...
But one day, we will release the loneliness from between our fingertips, and we will slip off the heaviness as gracefully as the trees shed their foliage on a colorful autumn day.
And instead of mourning what we've lost, we will rejoice for all of the space we've created to allow something more beautiful to take its place.
And that isn't to say we won't still feel the harshness of a brisk winter. We were never promised a life without suffering.
But one day, a bud will spring forth to remind us what it feels like to flourish and even the sun herself will envy our light.

This is actually a color photo, not black and white .... the buildings are gray and white, so combined with the fog and snow, it appears to be b/w. Not a whole lot of color going on this time of year. I'm going to suggest that they paint their barn red for next winter lol ....
