God asks Job where he was when the foundations of the earth were laid, "When the morning stars sang together, and when all the sons of God shouted for joy" - Job 38:7

I try not to complain about the weather, because there is opportunity in all of it... however, I have to admit that I was grateful to see the stars again. Tracked/Stacked/Blended.

Same park, same snowfall after blizzard like conditions...beautiful once the wind had dropped though :)

I would politely ask that you don’t invite me to groups with fbanners badges or awards..post one comment on three etc

I simply haven’t the time..thanks Sue xx

My son and I are quite the team. For those of you who know Micah from my early Flickr days, he's now 14. A beautiful and growing teenager who has had challenges all his life with being diagnosed with severe autism and intellectual disability from a young age. Despite being non-verbal, he's always had a joyful spirit and loves with his whole heart. A few months ago my heart almost stopped as he begun having seizures. The first was the worst but he's continued to have many of what they call focal seizures since. He's started medication but they are not under control. I'm left trying to find help from hard to contact specialists and it makes me feel like I'm drowning some days because I don't know what else to do to help him. It seems so unfair. I want to rage but I feel sad. So asking for prayers, for him, for me, for a better balance of my spirit xx

You know that feeling you get where you want to be left alone. You dont want to have anyone ask anything of you and you only want to have to consider yourself for once. Well I get that now and then because my life is so busy and I got what I wanted on Monday when everyone was off doing their own thing and I was left alone overnight ALL ON MY OWN. And it was great.....for about an hour ;-)

When we pray, God hears more than we say, answers more than we ask, gives more than we imagine in His own time and in His own way.

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

(Matthew 7:7)

“Who in the world am I? Ah, that's the great puzzle.”

― Lewis Carroll , Alice in Wonderland

"I want to chase them! Can I never turn back?" She asked, looking longingly up at the sky, towards her dreams, towards adventure... towards the unknown.

"But what about what you already have here?" A response with another question, eyeing her with disapproval. "Responsibilities, promises and what society expects of you..."

She pouted, heaving a huge sigh, still looking up at the sky. Stubborn nature taking over, "I don't care, I'll never come back." she said adamantly.

"In due time..." The words were whispered, a hand reaching over her chest, "Don't waste time..." it repeated over and over...

P.S. Photo taken at one of Missing Melody's public spots, the open meadow. Best place for inspiration and relaxation. ;)

Just Sitting Here why do you ask? Prissy being a bit sheepish because she isn't supposed to be on the printer, just being a cat, shot in North Carolina.

This one young lady had an internet blog where she featured the ten prettiest kittens in the world. She had Jeff as the 3rd prettiest in the world. Jeff in another earlier photo when he was around four months old! I didn't give her permission to use my photo but when she told me it had been viewed by over a million people throughout the world, I forgave her. Please ask permission. I'm generally a kind and generous person. 😻

Please, don't use this image on blogs or web site without my permission.

"Earache! That is what you get when you don’t listen to the woman in your life when she tells you to bring an umbrella while visiting Manchester; just ask that gentleman there!"

Emmeline Pankhurst was a British political activist from Manchester who spearheaded the UK’s suffragette movement and helped women obtain the right to vote.

Original title “Working Girl” was inappropriate. Looked back at all my photos that year and asked myself what I liked best, and why. This is the type photo for a core theme—images resolving contradictions. In this case, order and chaos, as the woman cleans the window of a clock shop with a perfectly horizontal squeegee stroke in a sea of bubbles. Love her contemplative expression, and the clutter of urban reflections superimposed on the orderly interior of a Viennese clock seller.

Thanks for looking,

Since I need some winter images for a proper photo calendar i looked for something worth capturing during those days when we had at least a little bit of snow.

Actually the amount of snow we had wasn’t even enough to cover the grass on this hill, so I cloned out hundreds of grass blades, which was great fun.

Not.

Same marina as yesterday's posting. This is from the end, towards Oslo. The moonlight was great, even if the moon was not full.

I've decided to keep the flairs and star trails.

If you wonder what's wrong with the reflections, there is a sheet of thin ice a few hundred meters out.

Thanks for stopping by.

A couple weeks ago, one of my photo compadres (Tom again) asked if I had any interest in shooting Death Valley. Tom was the second photographer in a week to suggest Death valley after Matt Straite had suggested a trip to the valley a few days before.

I couldn't make it on Matt's weekend, but I had Tom's weekend free. I almost said no as my mental images of Death Valley were pretty much of a barren wasteland where you pretty much sat around all day waiting for the sun to go down so that you could do some serious astrophotography later. But I hesitantly said yes and then began scouting for shots. After looking at some amazing photos online, I was really looking forward to the trip, especially since rain was forecast for that afternoon, and since Death Valley gets something like 2 inches of rain a year, I figured we should strike while the iron was hot.

So Tom and I headed out right after my last class at 12:30 and it didn't take long for my enthusiasm for the rain to disappear along with all hope of getting out there in time for any kind of a sunset. It was pouring rain and there was a huge accident where the 15 meets the 215 and Tom's google app told us that if we got off on Glen Helen Pkwy we would save an hour. So we got off....and Glen Helen was closed due to construction. So....an hour later we were back on track but not feeling too badly because it was pouring down rain when we arrived. We grabbed some dinner and then waited for Ryan Engstrom to arrive. Ryan, just by coincidence, was also shooting Death Valley that week and he kindly agreed to meet up with us and to give us some pointers as he had been there before and had come back with some spectacular shots. Light rain was still falling but we sat around outside our cars in folding chairs talking shop far into the night.

The next morning we were up at 5:30 following Ryan across the Mesquite Dunes. It had rained right up until 4 AM and the clouds were still thick overhead, but they were beginning to break up on the horizon. We hiked quickly across the dunes for about a half an hour and then split up as we were trying to stay out of each other's shots. The wind picked up and suddenly we were dealing with dust AND raindrops on our lenses as the light continued to grow in the East. The cloud ceiling was still pretty thick, but there were breaks in the clouds where the sun was starting to sneak through. I grabbed the shot above, and then raced back to the peak of a large dune directly behind me. I was still adjusting the settings when the sun suddenly BURST through the clouds for about 30 seconds. I cranked the aperture to F16 and shot like a maniac before the sun disappeared. I'm still working on those shots and I hope to have them up soon.

On my way back to the car, I wanted to get to the top of what I considered to be the largest dune in the area. I started at the very bottom and figured I would be at the top in a couple of minutes. 20 minutes later, four teenagers watched as I collapsed at the top, gasping for air in what I was sure were going to be my last moments on earth. To make matters worse, some of their friends were still on their way up, kicking up the sand as they came, and the wind picked up, and now I had a 1/2 inch of sand across the top of my head.

30 minutes later we were back at the cars and then it was off to Stovepipe Wells for a big breakfast. Later that day we met up with Ernie Suto and Paul McConnville who were in the valley shooting from the LA area. We also found ourselves behind an Aperture Academy bus while we were shooting. Death Valley, especially during the Winter, is a popular place for photographers, and it was easy to see why. Not much to do in the middle of the day as the light was crummy, but the sunrises and sunsets can be pure magic.

Which way to the Bunny Trail?

I've recently made the step over from processing using Lightroom to using CaptureOne. Thought I'd have a go on one of my own favorites.

(Asker is the place I live. It is roughly 20 km outside Oslo, the capitol of Norway.)

If someone asks from where so much light trails on four lane highway (even though it was rush hour), and despite the fact that the exposure is only 10 seconds, I'll give a little explanation.

The photo was created by merging 6 photos in Photoshop. I used a sub-menu statistics in the menu scripts under the file menu. I used the option Maximum, and then automatically Photoshop everything is variable on each photo merge into a single image with maximum of this variability, and that variable in this case are the light trails.

I hope this explanation will help someone.

Sorry my friends, I have a little time to dedicate myself to Flickr. I wish everyone all the best and good light.

Typically, when I post a photo, it’s my own work, and the only description is the lyrics of a song that sparked the idea in my mind. But this picture is different. This was taken by Ari Gunner, who, without hesitation or expectation, offered to help me with my first store simply because she wanted to see me succeed. That simple act of kindness perfectly sums up who Ari was—not just in that moment, but in every moment I was lucky enough to share with her.

She wasn’t just a friend; she was the closest thing I ever had to a mother, both in SL and RL. She was there for me in ways that no one else was, without question, without obligation—just pure, unwavering support. She took care of me when she didn’t have to, when the world felt heavy, and when I felt alone.

I will carry her kindness, her love, and her generosity with me for the rest of my life. She gave so much and asked for nothing in return. That is the kind of love that never fades, and I will never forget her.
