Artificial Experiences

As technology seeps into every second of our waking lives, what experiences from the digital realm are real and worthy of engagement? What moments spent in flesh are glossed over and abstracted, losing their authenticity? How do we assign value to experiences, inside and outside of our screens? How is that value reflected in the ways we work and play in San Francisco and other urban environments?
Where: Hotel Zetta, 55 5th Street in San Francisco, California.

Kinetic Sculptures by Raul Mourão at Praça Tiradentes
SEPT 15 I OCT 6
The installation at Praça Tiradentes was borne out of a conversation between the artist and Studio-X Rio to re-utilize the fences (which were removed in 2011) surrounding Praça Tiradentes as material for a series of sculptures at the square. Although the fence was unfortunately not saved for such a purpose, the artist went ahead and proposed a series of kinetic sculptures assembled out of scaffolding material and techniques. Together with the installation at the square, Studio-X Rio hosted an exhibition called PROCESSO highlighting some of the artist's research regarding security fences in Rio as well as small scale models of the sculptures installed at the square.

Had a flood back in january and now work has finally started on the lounge. Believe it or not this is currently the tidiest room in the house. Portion of the ceiling has already been removed and eventually all this yukky artex will be gone too. I daren't post any pictures from upstairs because even i can not believe the way we're currently being forced to live. Let's just say it's an obstacle course to get to the bed for me and my boys. Still things are changing but for now i'm still riding the storm

A lot of artex contains asbestos and so can be potentially harmful.
We carry out asbestos artex removal all the time, making sure that the environment remains safe for anyone living or working there. Artex could be hidden anywhere, whether it be in floor tiles, cement sheets, door gaskets, cement roofing or sound-proofing, it’s always worth getting it looked at.
Asbestos artex is removed under semi-controlled conditions outlined by the HSE – this means putting an enclosure around the area and using special safety apparatus – this is all carried out safely and professionally by PALHire.co.uk.
