In an effort to enhance community relationships by breaking down the cultural and generational divides that exist today, students from Virginia Beach Public Schools have joined with police to create an art project about a year in the making. The murals are open to the public and located outside of the 4th Precinct Command.
The student artists attend public middle and high schools within the 4th Precinct Command jurisdiction. They were asked to paint two murals that demonstrate their vision of a positive community-police partnership combined with school pride and a hopeful future.
“Each school’s resource officer (SRO) encouraged open dialogue with students throughout the process to address any misconceptions and to inspire lasting relationship. That positive interaction found its way to the imagery captured on the final designs featured on the 16 murals,” said city officials in a statement released.

We found a whole street of art nouveau houses, obviously built all together, each different, but all with the same window details. A place to revisit and find more details next time!
an extension of the "Icarus" series I began back in 1978. A series of originally "ill-fated" works due to my ignorant use of Dr. PH Martin's analine -- photosensitive -- dyes! It has taken some 34 years for digital technology to catch up to my original desire/intent to work with pure, saturated color.
Greek myths have fascinated me since age 7. In the icarus series I have abstracted the hero's hapless descent after having flown too close to the sun with wings fashioned from wax and feathers

This 3D piece makes abstract art from pieces of scrap. I concentrated on the power of composition and placement.
