Lost art of writing in cursive. There are some grade schools that are no longer teaching cursive to their children. Everyone prints or types. Marc Rossmiller's add and pass "Lost Art."
This is not my art but as we were walking along the track at the Mountain Bike Race this work was prominantly displayed along the street. I'm not a fan of tagging but this was some interesting work.

As a child in around 1775, Crewe was painted by Sir Joshua Reynolds in a pose and costume which mimic the well-known portrait of Henry VIII by Hans Holbein the Younger. The portrait is considered among the artist's finest portrayals of children, and has been described as "one of Reynolds' freshest attempts at comedy painting". Horace Walpole commented: "Is not there humour and satire in Sir Joshua's reducing Holbein's swaggering and colossal haughtiness of Henry VIII to the boyish jollity of Master Crewe?"
Crewe was the son of John Crewe (1742–1829) of Crewe Hall, a wealthy Whig politician who was created the first Baron Crewe in 1806. His mother, Frances Anne Crewe, the daughter of Fulke Greville, was a political hostess known for her great beauty.

After waiting next to "The Shark" by Damien Hirst for 45 minutes,
I snuck this frame. Security is present to protect this decomposing
piece of art. To see the shark in person is very underwhelming.
This photo looks much better than the real thing, so the transition
to monochrome must be why. If you don't agree, go to the Met
and try to stay awake...
This was quite amazing - stunning art sculpture from sand! This is The Siesta Key Crystal Classic Master Sand Sculpting Championship held at Siesta Beach, Siesta Key, Florida.

The peasants in Teniers’ kermis (country festival) scenes usually behave impeccably. They eat and drink, dance to bagpipe music, or just stand around chatting. The only false note in this merry scene is caused by drink; the man in the left foreground can no longer stand on his legs. The colours are bright and cheerful, with many white accents provided by the freshly laundered shirts and aprons.

My fun purchase at a local art festival some years ago. Something about it spoke to me: maybe the vibrant colors of yellow and red, the symmetrical composition, the red rock in the center, the repetitive pattern of dots and squares, or who knows I needed some kind of reminder for goodness in the world?
