I love rich, earthy colors and bright colors. Green and gold are one of my favorite combinations.

Chalkboard art at Halloween. This frame I had found on garbage day over 7 years ago and it has lived in our garage until now. I used the left over masonite and chalkboard paint to make it into the treasure I knew it was meant to be.
Vincent van Gogh
(Dutch, Zundert 1853–1890 Auvers-sur-Oise)
Date: 1887
Van Gogh painted four still lifes of sunflowers in Paris in late summer 1887. There is an oil sketch for this picture (Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam) as well as another painting of two sunflowers also signed and dated 1887 (Kunstmuseum Bern), and a larger canvas showing four sunflower heads (Kröller-Müller Museum, Otterlo). Paul Gauguin acquired the two smaller works, and until the mid-1890s, when he sold his most prized possessions to finance his South Seas voyage, they held pride of place above the bed in his Paris apartment.

Before I have even started the course I received a letter saying I had homework to do!!. I had to create a concertina altered journal , containing drawings and paintings recording my daily activities. The book also had to be taller than myself when unravelled...
It proved to be a bit of a challenge lol, but I have finished it on time, and competed it witha polymer clay cover with shells and and a seashore scape...hope you like it :)
You can see it bound in this pic, with the polymer clay button helping to hold the book in place

Beautiful stones in Cadaqués to make Land art near the sea. Old round bricks seems to say: NO MORE BUILDINGS AT THE COSTA BRAVA.
Molt bones pedres a Cadaqués per fer Land art prop del mar. Els vells rajols modelats per les onades, semblen dir: NO MÉS EDIFICIS A LA COSTA BRAVA.
This page is every bit as bright as it looks here - I'm thrilled with how it turned out! The stars have a dusting of gold shimmer on them, and behind them is a transparency. I used ink, watercolour crayons, paint, rub-ons, dymo tape, and paint markers. And of course the usual jumble of ephemera for the background.
I blogged about what prompted this page here:

I created this shrine for the workshop I'm offering at Roses. A complete pleasure to create since I love the painting of Venus by
Sandro Botticelli and have admired it forever!
Yep, this one's my "pride" painting. Only I did it my way. You don't have to march in a parade or be militant to be proud of who you are. You don't have to be what anyone else tells you to be. Just be who you are... and your wishes will start to come true.
Besides, rainbows are just FUN! And yes, I know Starlite's not a unicorn - but unicorns are FUN too. ^.~*

While stopping for gas in the Inwood section of Manhattan I came across this cool bit of street art.
