Thanks for all the comments on this. Yes, it's a bit abstract. I will improve the caption:

I went to a small air show at the weekend. Unfortunately due to weather there were almost no aircraft flying. So I took a few photos at ground level instead....

NJT 4502, in a colorful Armed Forces livery, catches the last few seconds of light as they head through Harrison. This train is headed for the Raritan Valley Line and is likely either a late 5445 or the 5747 positioning itself for a later departure. Raritan Valley Line trains originate at Newark Penn Station and typically use these ALP-45DPs.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saguaro

The saguaro (/səˈ(ɡ)wɑːroʊ/ sə-(G)WAR-oh,[5] Spanish: [saˈɣwaɾo]; Carnegiea gigantea) is a tree-like cactus species in the monotypic genus Carnegiea that can grow to be over 12 meters (40 feet) tall. It is native to the Sonoran Desert in Arizona, the Mexican state of Sonora, and the Whipple Mountains and Imperial County areas of California. The saguaro blossom is the state wildflower of Arizona. Its scientific name is given in honor of Andrew Carnegie. In 1933, Saguaro National Park, near Tucson, Arizona, was designated to help protect this species and its habitat.

Saguaros have a relatively long lifespan, often exceeding 150 years. They may grow their first side arm around 75–100 years of age, but some never grow any arms. Arms are developed to increase the plant's reproductive capacity, as more apices lead to more flowers and fruit. A saguaro can absorb and store considerable amounts of rainwater, visibly expanding in the process, while slowly using the stored water as needed. This characteristic enables the saguaro to survive during periods of drought. It is a keystone species, and provides food and habitat to a large number of species.

Saguaros have been a source of food and shelter for humans for thousands of years. Their sweet red fleshed fruits are turned into syrup by native peoples, such as the Tohono Oʼodham and Pima. Their ribs are used as building materials in the wood-poor deserts. The saguaro cactus is a common image in Mexican and Arizonan culture, and American Southwest films.

I took this shot during a recent visit to London, and can say that seeing this guy talking animately into his radio while walking purposefully towards Trafalgar Square certainly made me pay attention to my surroundings. I did wonder what was going on, but grateful that nothing eventful occurred during the walk I was on.

Die Barrikade auf dem Michaelerplatz in der Nacht vom 26. auf den 27. Mai 1848

"The demonstration of the students on March 13, with which they demanded freedom of speech, teaching, and learning, was the starting note for the revolutionary events of 1848. From then on, the “Academic legion”, an armed formation of students, was at the forefront of all revolutionary actions. When the government resolved to dissolve the Legion, the students, supported by workers from the periphery, erected roughly 160 barricades in Vienna’s city centre from 26 to 28 May, with which they forced the government to repeal the decree." sammlung.wienmuseum.at/en/album/a2ciemencqh4v4gpf-barrica...

This photograph is of one of Heathrow Airport's specialist firearms officers, fully kitted up. One thing you can't appreciate from the photo was how hot the subject was wearing all that gear - didn't help that I kept taking shot after shot keeping him stood there :o)

Enroute to Semien Mountains we had to stop in the town of Debark first to meet up with our guide, cook, armed guard and pick up food supplies. Yes, we were required by the park to hire an armed guard who were all local villagers. It wasn't because the park was particularly dangerous. This provided them with a job and a chance to be involved in the protection and preservation of their land.

A jet passes low over a ridge in Death Valley.

Apparently the jets on active duty and on call protecting the West Coast pass by here. A nearby observer mentioned that one of the jets that flew by on this day was armed. I'm assuming this was the one!
