The Margaretenschlucht is a popular destination in the Odenwald. On the steep slope towards the Neckar, a unique canyon and a canyon forest has arisen, which was placed under nature protection as early as 1940. A narrow path leads through the gorge, some of which is secured with ropes and railings. Especially after heavy or long-lasting rainfalls, you rarely arrive at the top with dry shoes. Just beautiful!

Hidden under the yellow cover are white shark sculptures which are supposed to appear to be leaping out of the canal. Apparently, Hackney Council opposed planning permission so a dispute has arisen. They were on display briefly in nearby Islington. A YouTube video explains the case.
This is a special place on Skye called the Fairy Glen and the natural rock formation seen here is called Castle Ewen. The stone spiral is pretty much ever present but locals do remove it occasionally to return the glen to its natural state. This one does look fairly well established though. Various stories regarding the spiral have arisen but I think there is no truth to them and they are all made up. ( I always stand to be corrected though) The rainbow was a real treat to see there. The whole area does have a feel of mysticism about it.

The cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta (cathedral of Trani) sometimes appealed to Santo Nicola Pellegrino, is the main Catholic place of worship in the city of Trani, in Puglia, mother church of the archdiocese of Trani-Barletta-Bisceglie and, since 1960, minor basilica. Started in 1099, the church was built on the basis of the older one of Santa Maria della Scala. A first building of worship dating back to the fourth century, as evidenced by recent archaeological excavations, would have arisen on the area where the Cathedral is currently located ......... The decisive phase of construction was presumably between 1159 and 1186 under the impulse of Bishop Bertrando II, while around 1200 the completion was to be considered achieved, except for the bell tower

The church is dedicated to Santiago Apóstol and experienced two construction periods. The first is from the end of the 14th or beginning of the 15th century and is due to the belfry at the foot as well as the small nave and the rectangular apse with a ribbed vault and baquetone pillars in the triumphal arch. In 1668, the building was extended according to the precepts of the Baroque style. Then the vault of the primitive front wall should have been painted with the representations of the four evangelists.
At the end of the seventies, an archaeological excavation was carried out in the surroundings of the church, which provided valuable information from the late Roman and early medieval times. In the lower strata, the remains of a rustic Roman villa from the 3rd to 5th centuries AD were discovered. C. that must have arisen under the protection of the road that passed through this point from the Ebro Valley in the direction of Julióbriga. Above this substrate, an inhuman necropolis appeared with tombs dating from the 7th to the 12th century, some of which provided artistic objects of some interest, such as the bone brooch decorated with Mozarabic motifs that is now in the Museum. Santander Archaeological. At present there is a declaration of Archaeological Zone of Interest that protects the entire excavation.

A patch of crocosmia has arisen unexpectedly in an open area in my yard. These are orange and smaller than my neighbors. Not sure how they managed to get on my property but I really like them and hope they thrive!
At the end of a maze of streets facing the Mediterranean sea, two unidentified objects stand out in the environment. Two concrete domes that reminds of a futuristic metropolis, even though they are in a Mediterranean neighborhood.
They were built using an extremely innovative construction technique for the sixties, which is still in use: the Binishell . This dome, like the younger sister built next door, was arisen in a very short time thanks to a single cast concrete.
Even though the younger dome house next door is in perfect conditions and still in use, this one has been abandoned to its luck.

We thought this big bush of Laurier-Rose in the garden was dead on its feet when we first moved into the property back in May but in the past couple of weeks it's arisen Lazarus-like and is producing the most amazing crimson red flowers. Oh, the wonder of nature; it never ceases to amaze.
