Many of these melons I've labeled a simply being "Musk" melons as I don't know the names of the varieties in Japan. For those I can see the inside of, I've added the American names; mostly honeydew and cantaloupe. Sorry for any confusion.

The vast majority of my Fruits and Veggies are made by Re-ment. If the label doesn't have a brand listed, please assume it's Re-ment (because I am too lazy to write Re-ment 403 times for all these pictures). Other brands include Mimo, Orcara and Megahouse as well as a handful of misc brands and sources.

All of these items come from many different collections and I can't possibly list them all, but I'll list a few places to find things. Feel free to ask any questions.

~~Re-ment and Megahouse: Renatta has wonderful pictures on her Re-ment Checklist site.

~~Mimo: Mimo erased most of their pictures from their website a few years ago, but I managed to copy many and have them in a Mimo Set here on Flickr.

I was here. One of Oscorp's many labs situated across America. These places were full of what I needed.

Minus the scientists.

"Hmm, the animal DNA mixture seems to be reacting well with the venom. All the possible threats of death have been minimised-but still not destroyed. Now then-"

I burst in on him. I couldn't let him find the anti-venom and show the world.

I needed it.

"Ww...what are you? W...who are you?"

"My name is not important. But that little vial over there, is. Give it to me. NOW!"

"Please, don't hurt me! Take it! Just take it now!"

I went to go and pick it up, but the little prick triggered the alarm and grabbed the DNA anti-venom. I reacted by ripping his arm off.

As you do.

He screamed and fell to the floor.

I scooped up the vial in my claws and charged out of the lab.

"Stop right there you-ah crap!"

I charged at the security guard and pulled the gun out of his hands. He cried out to me.

"Please...I'll do anything!"

"Really?!"

I plunged my claws into his chest, causing the other guards to fire at me.

"Who the hell are you?!"

I ran strait into them screaming:

"I AM LIZARD!"

Oh how I wish that I could recreate the final look for real.

A app. 2 inch long newly hatched Crested Gecko

The New Caledonian Crested Gecko, Guichenot's Giant Gecko or Eyelash Gecko, Rhacodactylus ciliatus, is a species of gecko native to southern New Caledonia. This species was thought extinct until it was rediscovered in 1994.[1] Along with several other Rhacodactylus species, it is being considered for protected status by the Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora and

The species was first described in 1866 as Correlophus ciliatus by the French zoologist Alphone Guichenot in an article entitled "Notice sur un nouveau genre de sauriens de la famille des geckotiens du Muséum de Paris" ("Notes on a new species of lizard in the gecko family") in the Mémoires de la Société Scientifique Naturelle de Chérbourg. It has since been renamed Rhacodactylus ciliatus.

The generic name Rhacodactylus is Greek in origin: Rhakos, meaning "spine" and Dactylus meaning "finger". The specific name, ciliatus, is Latin: Cilia means "fringe" or "eyelash" and refers to the crest of skin over the animal's eyes that resembles an eyelash.

The New Caledonian Crested Gecko has hair-like projections found above the eyes, resembling eyelashes. It has a wedge shaped head and the males with a crest that runs from each eye to the tail. The toes and the tip of the tail are covered in small hairs called setae. Each seta is divided into hundreds of smaller (approximately 200 nanometres in diameter) hairs called spatulae. It is believed these structures exploit the weak van der Waals force to help the gecko climb on most solid surfaces. The toes have small claws which aid in climbing surfaces to which their toes cannot cling.

The New Caledonian Crested Gecko has many naturally occurring color groups, some of which include: gray, brown, red, orange and yellow of various shades. They have variable markings, which include: spots, straight stripes and tiger-like stripes. The markings and coloration are not geographic indicators; offspring of the same clutch may display differing coloration and markings. The colors are brighter and more prominent at night.

The New Caledonian Crested Gecko has distinct structural morphs in head size and crest abundancy. Geckos with a head length less than 1.3 times its width are considered "crowned" Crested Geckos. They can vary in the amount and size of the crests; some have crests that extend to the base of the tail and some lack crests on one side of their

The Crested Gecko is endemic to South Province, New Caledonia. There are three disjunct populations, one found on the Isle of Pines and surrounding islets, and there are two populations found on the main island of Grande Terre. One population is around the Blue River, which is a protected provincial park, and the other is further north, just south of Mount Dzumac

This is a repost. Likely thanks to the Flickr app's not-so-well placed delete button, it was apparently "butt-dialed" out of existence... I need to speak to the powers that be about that.

This is Round Bald, of the Roan Highlands, from a couple of years back. This is always a favorite destination in spring with Gray's lily, Catawba rhododendron, and flame azalea lighting up the bald, but what does autumn offer? I've had other photographers to tell me "Not much." Apparently, blueberries on fire framing the surrounding mountains dressed in autumn's finest isn't worth their effort. I beg to differ, but you be the judge.

I generally spend a week in the Grandfather Mountain region in the fall. That gives access to many places that shine in that season, like Rough Ridge, Linville Gorge, and Boone Fork, of which most favor morning light. Round Bald, especially with consideration of the mountain layers beyond it, favors evening light, so it's always a part of my photography agenda.

I approach photography with a sense of wonder. Even familiar subjects like Round Bald are always fascinating with the changing seasons and light. For all that, I still have room to learn. My wife and I work closely with many foreign students at Duke University through International Students, Inc. On a recent trip to the bald, married friends from China made observations that were not lost on me.

Both Jesse and Sophia (their Anglicized names) were transfixed with the clouds rolling across the bald. Jesse made two observations, the first being that it reminded him of Chinese mythology of immortals breathing mist. Mythology stemmed from people trying to make sense of their surroundings in a time before science. Both of my friends are Christians and well-versed in science, but for them, the highlands were otherworldly... even in my familiarity with the place, I could well understand their fascination.

While shooting his own photos of the mountains disappearing into the mist, Jesse just lowered the camera and looked around as he stated that he had "never heard such quiet." Earlier in the day at a mountain stream, Sophia noted that she felt as though her nose had just taken a shower. I love that description! The conditions of Beijing made our mountains stand out to these sweet visitors, and though I've not (yet) been to Beijing, they made them stand out to me, too.

We have friends coming from England in September. I drove 700 miles through England last year during a bank holiday. That made me realize something: England comprises roughly 4/5s of the total area of North Carolina, yet with a population of 50+ million people, England has 10-times the population of North Carolina... and I believe they were all on the road while I was there last year. We're picking our friends up in Charlotte and staying together in a wonderful cabin near Newland. I can't wait for their impressions up here at Roan Highlands... the blueberries should just be turning.

I have been using this app on my smartphone to manually meter some of my photos recently, and have very pleased with the results.

I edited this using an app on my phone that I love love love! :) App = pixlr
