Hey, you! It is cold out here and a little appreciation for my showing up would be, well, appreciated! Like some food in my bowl!!
The black and yellow swallowtails mixed with the zipping of hummingbirds through the yard makes it hard to come inside this time of year.

愛好風景攝影的人，癡迷程度往往可以犧牲睡眠，不畏寒冷、酷熱，不顧到達景點的困難度，早早去卡位，遇到大景出現，按下快門的那瞬間的滿足感，令人做夢都會笑。
開始攝影到現在有 20 年了，我覺得最大逆轉的一次就發生在 2012/4/30 早上！
土城龍泉溪有一處攝影人津津樂道的景點，每年 4 月、8 月早上約 07:30 ~ 08:00，陽光剛好會穿過樹稍的間隙灑入溪谷，就形成這光與水的瀑布。前一天還去勘查地形找那景點，發現要攀著好心人綁在橋邊的童軍繩沿山壁下溪谷，人與三腳架都要入水及膝，頂多三到四隻腳架的空間才算是漂亮的角度，肩上還要背著背包，挺硬的，千萬別來個ㄧ不小心吶。
那天調好鬧鐘 4:30am 要起床，沒想到鬧鐘沒響，我已經先被雷電交加的豪大雨吵醒，太好的理由就繼續睡吧，癡迷嘛，竟然我無法入睡了，趕快就頂著滂沱大雨去了，哈，一路開車雨漸漸變小，到達時雨已停歇！溪谷裡只有另外ㄧ個瘋子在等，其他計劃要去的正常人都被大雨給擋在家裡吧？水量好大，又不混濁，只是雲不開呀，再不開太陽的位置就過頭了！是我的念力嗎?! 竟然老天賞賜了 10 分鐘的強烈陽光。 這麼好的事，需要企圖心，再加上天時、地利、人和！追求 High-end 也是如此吧？
In the more traditional section of the gallery with some young couples looking at the works on display . The guy near the corner is looking at what is stated as the most popular painting in the gallery , Under the Jacaranda painted by R. Godfrey Rivers in 1903 , someone mysteriously scatters jacaranda blossoms on the floor below the painting when the trees are in bloom . A nice touch I thought .. Their looking and you can look on .

I've never wanted special recognition. Even in high school, I declined a nomination to National Honor Society.
But, the volunteer dinner, held at the zoo on Friday night, was different. A banquet hall filled with people who have made contributions, mostly quietly and behind the scenes, is about community, not self-promotion. Community is something I value.
The volunteer coordinator made this certificate on her computer. It says, "Camera Connoisseur." A token, reminding me that community is happening. I can get into that.

It has been a year now since I began seriously uploading images to Flickr. I actually joined Flickr earlier in '08 to read the forums (like guys say about Playboy) and help decide which camera and lens to get. I didn't know I would have this much enjoyment and satisfaction from sharing my special moments with others. It has been a very stimulating and rewarding year.
I have learned so much from YOU and your exemplary skills and talents. Your amazing photos inspire and motivate me.

Santa Fe's Employee Appreciation Special on the eastbound trek to Chicago on August 30, 1992. Assisting 3751 are C40-8W's 844/843/842 with twelve cars trailing the power. Pictured here in Cajon Pass on the big curve at Cozy Dell, below Cajon. Fortunately, the lighting was much better here, than the previous days efforts, but I could have used a bit of elevation as the train was on the #1 main at this point.
