There are so many plants, trees and flowers that bring us into a world of pleasing tones, colors and shades. Our eyes are treated to a show of beauty. As our seasons pass so quickly take the time needed to “Appreciate That Feeling” that provides you with the warmth and comfort that we all really desire. Thanks for viewing my work. Gratitude and kindness I hope are a part of your daily fulfillment.

Thanks for your visit and comments, I appreciate that very much!

While patiently waiting for my time to sit on a bench :))

It is in the shade that you look up at the springtime sun and appreciate its efforts.

Galah - annual nesting spot

Scientific Name:Eolophus roseicapillus

Description: The Galah can be easily identified by its rose-pink head, neck and underparts, with paler pink crown, and grey back, wings and undertail. Birds from the west of Australia have comparatively paler plumage. Galahs have a bouncing acrobatic flight, but spend much of the day sheltering from heat in the foliage of trees and shrubs. Huge noisy flocks of birds congregate and roost together at night.

Similar species: The Galah is generally unmistakable, but in flight may resemble aGang-gang Cockatoo in shape.

Distribution: The Galah is one of the most abundant and familiar of the Australian parrots, occurring over most of Australia, including some offshore islands.

Habitat: The Galah is found in large flocks in a variety of timbered habitats, usually near water.

Feeding: Galahs form huge, noisy flocks which feed on seeds, mostly from the ground. Seeds of grasses and cultivated crops are eaten, making these birds agricultural pests in some areas. Birds may travel large distances in search of favourable feeding grounds.

Breeding: Galahs form permanent pair bonds, although a bird will take a new partner if the other one dies. The nest is a tree hollow or similar location, lined with leaves. Both sexes incubate the eggs and care for the young. There is high chick mortality in Galahs, with up to 50 % of chicks dying in the first six months. Galahs have been recorded breeding with other members of the cockatoo family, both in the wild and captivity. These include the Sulphur-crested Cockatoo, C. galerita.

Calls: The voice is a distinctive high-pitched screech, 'chi-chi'.

Minimum Size: 35cm

Maximum Size: 36cm

Average size: 36cm

Average weight: 337g

Breeding season: February to July in the north; July to December in the south

Clutch Size: 3 to 4

From this shot you can appreciate just how low to the ground this Maserati Tipo 151/3 is. Car is also noted as a 151/4 if the information on the internet is correct, based on the wheelbase and track being lengthened/widened and the car running larger wheels.

The Tipo 151/3 was penned by designer Piero Drogo and features a similarities to the Ferrari 250 GT SWB ’Breadvan’ that he was also responsible for. This example of was built from the remains of two destroyed examples that suffered accidents in 1964 and 1965 (the second was a fatal accident at the Le Mans test day, where Lloyd ‘Lucky’ Casner came off track and rolled the car in the wet).

Thanks a lot for your visit, faves and comments. Its truly appreciated!

Based upon its horizontal perching behavior, I believe this may be a male meadowhawk dragonfly. I found it perched at the edge of Mud Lake, a small lake found in Leelanau State Park on Michigan's Leelanau Peninsula. Help with more specific identification would be greatly appreciated. I have found trying to photograph dragonflies that zoom my way only to immediately zoom off in another direction, very frustrating. So, hurray for perchers!

See below to appreciate how much the moon's location has changed in 15 minutes as it was setting over the Vancouver skyline last night

Yesterday the 26% illuminated Moon was in a Waxing Crescent Phase. Best seen in the west after the sun dips below the horizon at sunset. This is the first Phase after the New Moon. The moon is close to the sun in the sky and mostly dark except for the right edge of the moon which becomes brighter as the days get closer to the next phase which is a First Quarter with a 50% illumination. It is a complex mountain, with many ridges and subsidiary peaks, one of which, Stob Coire Sgreamhach, is classified as a separate Munro. The most noticeable features of Bidean nam Bian are the famous Three Sisters of Glen Coe, three steeply-sided ridges that extend north into the Glen.

Sadly I have looked this flower up and the best name I can find is trumpet. I don't believe that it is the flower's name, does anyone know what it is called?
