Rumah api merupakan menara atau bangunan tinggi. Rumah api yang terletak di kawasan berdekatan dengan KTM, Tumpat ini merupakan salah satu tapak sejarah yang masih kekal pada hari ini dan dijadikan tumpuan umum. Rumah api ini dibina daripada batu bata, berbentuk bulat dan tirus ke atas. ukuran bagi lilit bahagian bawah adalah 37'9 dan tinggi 70 kaki. Tangga dibahagian dalam rumah api ini pula dibina bagi memudahkan seseorang untuk naik dan menghidup@mematikan lampu. Semasa perang dunia kedua (1941-1945) rumah api ini dibina bagi mengawasi kawasan perairan daripada musuh dan kapal tentera membuat rondaan oleh tentera Jepun yang mentadbir Kelantan pada masa itu.
