On a recent trekking,

we got lost in the thick growth of the jungle.

After hours of disorientation we found a path,

leading us past a stream of the freshest water.

We followed it upstream,

hoping to find a house or some village where we could rest

and eat before continuing our way back home.

Hours passed until we reached this long forgotten temple complex,

where we got to see a Shinigami raising from the underworld.

It warned us for entering this world of darkness,

we had no choice but continue our way,

which would be riddled with surprises.

We were quite unsettled by the meeting of this Shinigami.

All we knew was that no human has ever really seen them.

Our path continued past some ancient relics,

weathered by the hand of time,

until Chernobog, the dark god, appeared and

told us to leave and never speak to anyone about this place.

Fear was entering our souls, we ran from the Dark God,

trying not to panic and make irrational decisions.

What was this place?

It looked like it was built ages before all known civilisations existed.

There was a mix of runes, old pali script,

buddhist and pagan symbols, it was everywhere carved into boulders of granite.

What is this place?

Then Anubis rose from the earth, warning us again,

there was no place for us mortals to roam here.

We had to leave… NOW.

After that last warning, the earth rumbled and crumbled.

Fire and steam rose from the cracks.

Apis rose from the depths, in rage,

and started chasing us out of the jungle.

We ran and ran till our last breath.

A bright light fell over us,

as a blanket of love and life.

We made it out!

But where were we?

Where did we just come from?

Was this just a terrible dream or did it really happen?

I found this bee buzzing in the street. It was on the floor trying to fly, but couldn't. At first I thought that the bee had broken its wing and had been injured, but when i took a closer look, it was not. I thought it was a bit intriguing because there are almost no bees in my neighborhood. I found this out side of my apartment complex in El Cajon Boulevard located in San Diego California. This insect is a part of the High Tech High Insects of San Diego Field Guide.

Api is a warm drink made from corn, with spices like cinnamon and cloves. It's delicious (especially with a buñuelo or three) for breakfast.

Ho visto ritornare numerose le api... volare sui fiori del pitosforo in cerca di polline, un lavoro importante che questi piccoli insetti fanno anche per noi.

I have seen many bees ... flying back on the pittosporum flowers looking for pollen, an important work that these small insects do for us.

The first insect I have been able to snap this year, a solitary honey bee resting between the snowdrops at Waldershare.

Native wild honeybees are no longer believed to live in the UK. However some managed bees do escape and become feral.

Honeybees are social bees that live in permanent colonies of perhaps 50,000. Feral colonies like to nest in hollow trees or similar sheltered situations. The hive structure consists of wax 'honeycombs'; each honeycomb is made of small cells, which are used to store food or to rear the brood. Bees feed on nectar and pollen taken from flowers. Stores of honey (regurgitated nectar) and pollen (gathered on the legs in special 'pollen baskets') see them through the winter and enable them to stay together as a colony.
