I don't post MM outtakes often anymore, but this time it had been a really difficult choice between two images, and I also didn't want this image to end up in a permanent hard drive slumber. So here is MM choice No 2 that simply didn't make it to the group's pool because it looks a little weird (I like it weird, though), and not as elegant as my official upload. Most of the weirdness here probably derives from the fact that I had taken some photos with the watch placed upside down (and rotated this one to the left twice in LR) because it was easier to get a clear image of the 12 and the moving cursor at the same time this way.
Some of you may know that my Dad's watch had officially been declared "out of order for good" by a watchmaker many years ago and that it had miraculously started to work again when I photographed it for our November 2022 theme "Vintage". Well, I'm happy to say that it still runs happily and steadily, and this so much so that it runs really fast because it apparently always likes to be ahead of (the correct) time – but that doesn't matter at all as long as it keeps working ;)
What surprisingly also still works, is the lume on the hour and minute hand, even if it only glows for a few seconds after being activated by a strong light source. In this image, however, the lume glows courtesy of a few Lightroom sliders ("Lightlume") because it had not even crossed my mind to activate the lume during my MM Keepsake photo shoot. To make it look glowing, I masked the lume part, increased the whites, and tweaked the tone in the white balance menu. The fan-like effect on the moving second hand once again is a result of using the in-camera Live ND filter. And the colourful texture in the upper left corner is the Nato strap I keep the watch on. The watch has an unusual 19mm lug width and curved spring bars on top of that, and an 18mm Nato strap was the easiest way to fit it with a fresh-looking new strap (ordered from Esprit Nato in Paris because that's the only store that offers almost all the different colours and patterns a Nato strap can have with gold hardware).

Today is a red day at Color my World Daily Group and we celebrate yellow at Macro Mondays…. So, it is a yellow and red Monday today!!

An old tree towers high above the world-famous Neuschwanstein Castle. He doesn't look quite as fresh anymore. But on the contrary. Only a small part of the branches is still green.
On the one hand, I find that very regrettable, because a healthy, strong tree is of course a much nicer sight.
On the other hand, precisely because it looks that way, this pine is more interesting from a photographic point of view. For me it has more the appearance of a sculpture than that of a plant.
This photo was taken 2 years ago and fell into my "hands" again today (actually only into my eyes). Since I'm not going to travel this summer, I spontaneously came up with the idea of digging up a few unpublished pictures from earlier trips and refreshing the memories with them.
Let's see what else comes up.
Hoch oben über den weltbekannten Schloss Neuschwanstein tront ein alter Baum. Er sieht nicht mehr ganz so frisch aus. Ganz im Gegenteil. Nur noch ein kleiner Teil der Äste ist noch grün.
Auf der einen Seite finde ich das sehr bedauerlich, denn ein gesunder kräftiger Baum ist natürlich ein viel schönerer Anblick.
Auf der anderen Seite ist diese Kiefer, gerade weil sie so aussieht, aus fotografischer Sicht interessanter. Sie hat für mich eher das Erscheinung einer Skulptur, als die einer Pflanze.
Dieses Foto ist bereits vor 2 Jahren entstanden und mir heute wieder in die "Hände" gefallen (eigentlich ja nur in die Augen). Dabei ist mir spontan die Idee gekommen, da ich diesen Sommer nicht verreise, ein paar unveröffentlichte Bilder früherer Reisen nochmal auszugraben und damit die Erinnerungen aufzufrischen.
Mal sehen, was dabei noch so auftaucht.

Downtown stretch of Yonge Street is (was) iconic part of Toronto. It was always swinging between chic and sleazy. At one point it was the entrainment center of TO with the most live musical venues in the city within few blocks. Developers took over few years ago and now only few sections of the old are left. Aided by rubber stamping (building permits) city hall and ravages of pandemic killing businesses, it will be soon non-descript "couldbeanywhereintheworld" area, where sun will never reach the sidewalk.
This area is north of Wellesley. Let's see how long it will stay this way. The buildings are from late 19th century and used to be fairly typical in the city.

I spotted a cutting when out on a work related journey and decided to scramble down to investigate. I found a wee railway!!!!!!!! Info below. :)
Leadhills is the home for Britain's highest narrow gauge adhesion railway, reaching 1,498 feet above sea level. Operated and managed by a team of dedicated enthusiasts, all of whom are volunteers, the railway welcomes visitors every weekend during the summer months.
The journey takes you from the station at Leadhills to the terminus at Glengonnar halt before returning back to the station. The train runs past the disused Glengonnar Mine, where minerals were first excavated in the 1450's. The narrow gauge track has been built on the original track bed of the Caledonian Railway and today runs a variety of historic industrial diesel locomotives.
The original railway closed in the late 1930s shortly after the mines in Wanlockhead had closed.
The railway currently stops at the border of South Lanarkshire and Dumfries and Galloway.

Finley returned to music in 2016, after he could not do carpentry anymore, as he was gradually becoming blind. He was a musician during his army stint in Germany in the 1970's.
At age 65 he was contestant on 'America Got Talent' and reached semi-finals.
In Montreal he had two shows and performed simple, southern blues with the help of his daughter Christy Johnson, drummer, guitar and bass. He mostly sung, but also played guitar. Despite the fact, that he started playing and singing as an 11 year old, he only got invited to festivals in his retirement age. 'Age Don't Mean a Thing' is his signature tune.
