it never happens that in autumn I can take some days off and go somewhere far from Łódź but last autumn I had a chance to work in this beautiful surrounding for some days and I even had some time for short walks :-)

Weißbach an der Alpenstraße (amtlich: Weißbach a.d.Alpenstraße; früher nur Weißbach; heute meist als Weißbach a.d. Alpenstr. abgekürzt) ist ein Ortsteil bzw. eine Gemarkung der Gemeinde Schneizlreuth im Landkreis Berchtesgadener Land. Bis 1978 war Weißbach eine eigenständige Gemeinde. Der Name setzt sich aus dem früheren Namen und der Lage an der Deutschen Alpenstraße zusammen.

As seen in Rome.
This is the entrance to the Palazzo Firenze, now the home to the Dante Alighieri Society. The building dates to the second half of the 16th century and is built in the Renaissance style by the architect Bartolomeo Ammannati.
I once read in a guide-book to Rome that you should always look when you see an open door or gate in this city. And it is quite true. You can find some lovely gems that way.
No apocalypse of course. Just the setting sun that creates a somewhat curious image.
