I Recently had the chance to do another fixie or fixed gear bike shoot, with a good friend whom I’ve been promising to shoot since well, what seems like forever, we had bad weather and things got shuffled around a little but these are the results…

Cheers to Eric and the guys at Gear Brisbane for hooking us up with yet again some amazing bikes, we didn’t get a scratch on em, I promise. But Eric is a great guy always keen to help out and work on some cool new interesting projects no matter what they involve be it a few bikes or well (I’ll say the rest once I’ve finished working on the projects). You should go into the store if you are close to the Brisbane CBD, or visiting from out of town, its an amazing store and I guarantee you wont find another store like it anywhere in the world and for so many reasons…

So pop into shop @ 3A Browning Street, West End, QLD, 4101, or check out the online store and blog

Thanks to all the girls for putting up with me and the summer heat and lack of fresh air throughout the shoot due to the location, I’m sorry the weather turned and we couldn’t be out in the open. Thanks to Lewis for the million stupid questions you asked that probably extended the shoot to another half an hour, and for dabbing the sweat off of everyone when needed, you are definitely the weirdest most interesting assistant I have ever had on a shoot buddy…

So here are a few shots from the days shoot enjoy while I sort through everything and get it up on my THE BAKE HOUSE @ WORDPRESS and here on the blog, there are many more shoots to edit and upload so keep your eyes peeled enjoy…

Welcome back to Los Angeles, Lucy :P

Finally a black and white photo. Was looking at my project and realized all recent photos were very bolded, and in color. So I wanted something different for the day.

This was taken at 8am in the morning on the Brooklyn Bridge with my new 55-200mm lens. I was at the very end of the bridge about to walk across, zoomed and realized I didn't need to walk anywhere to get the whole view. haha.

Last night after tacos, packed a bit and waited for Thieny to get back... slept around 3:30am.

Woke up around 7am to go to the Brooklyn Bridge with NJ (since she hasn't gone yet).

We left around 8am, got there and totally forgot about how hot it would be with the sun out! Took pictures, walked halfway and decided to turn back to go home.

On the way home, I kept thinking about going to Jersey just for the sake of going, but finally convinced myself that it wasn't going to be worth the last few hours I have left in the East Coast.

So I just went back to UHall with NJ.

Went back to the room, finished packing, returned the Ethernet cord at Best Buy, walked around the street fair on 4th Ave. for a bit...

Helped Lily pack her stuff all into one big bag.

Cleaned my room.

Went down to check out (I got to keep my NYU Card because I said a little white lie - I "lost" my ID. :P It's not like they really need it back anyway!).

Walked around the fair, got tricked into buying a roasted corn on the cob (it was pretty delicious though) then walked around this little Japanese fair with Jessica, decided I wanted some food that I rarely get in LA so I went to the Halal Truck.

BOY WAS THAT MEAL SPICY!

Even NJ thought it was spicy - which means it was really spicy haha. Nonetheless, it was delicious and I am very glad I got it.

Soraya came down, so I went with her to go give our Metrocards away since it wasn't going to expire for another 5 or so days. Then I realized, I should've took an expired Metrocard as a souvenir!

Speaking of souvenirs, I barely bought any for anyone. Not because "I'm cheap" but because I don't plan on this being my last visit to NYC. Also, I feel that everyone should experience living in the city for more than a touristy amount of time. Four weeks was good. I could have stayed longer, but I don't mind being home either :)

So we wait for the Super Shuttle, the six of us get on with four other strangers... and our trunk barely even closes. On the freeway, the driver had to get off to shut the truck since it popped open. That was interesting :P

Got to JFK 4.5 hours early. Met up with Mario who was already at the gate... (my check-in bag was a little too heavy so I had to keep my sheets with my carry-on) It was perfect though because I ended up using my sheet to nap on the floor at the gate. Interesting, and unforgettable experience for sure!

Soraya came, went to look for food... walked all throughout the terminal and finally found a MickeyDs.

Went back to our "station" and found Jessica there too! Chatted with each other... "bonding time!"

Thanks Jess for the beautiful artwork. You are so sweet :)

(Just got home after a long day getting longer... keep reading and that confusing-ness will make more sense. haha.)

Boarded the plane, switched seats with someone to sit next Mario and Soraya. Proud of you both for conquering your fears of flying!

The flight was quite smooth, though it was pretty difficult to sleep. Watched "Bounty Hunter" with Gerald Butler and Jennifer Aniston... watched the lightning that was outside, then finally landed... AN HOUR EARLY!

Waited at the airport for a bit (was writing this darn blog haha) and got picked up. On the way home, our right front tire POPPED and our car started shaking... at first I thought it was a helicopter lol, then I realized that the helicopter would be really close if it were actually that loud. We exited (Luca was driving - good job, brother!) and parked at an AMPM. I called AAA and they sent "AMPM Towing" to help us change the lifeless tire.

I was surprised how much I remembered from Auto Tech in high school and I obviously forgot a lot as well. Gotta go get that stuff checked at Costco ASAP!

Now we finally got home, it's about 4am EST... but I don't want to be "jet lagged" so I'm still going to try to wake up around 9am PST.

Oh yeah, my SkullCandy plug broke. Mario said it isn't hard or expensive to fix, but we'll see.

Thought of the day:

Do you believe in bad luck streaks?

First, that whole camera thing.

Then the Megabus was late an hour.

Today, went to the airport four hours early to save money.

Then arrive an hour early, so spent another hour at the airport.

Now, the tire thing.

I'm just glad my family is safe :)

I believe "bad luck streaks" do exist.

In fact, I think it happens to me quite frequently. Somehow I (or something that has to do with me) manage to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

However, I don't think this streak is necessarily a bad thing. You just gotta learn from it.

"Tell me and I forget.

Teach me and I remember.

Involve me and I learn."

Benjamin Franklin

Long, long day got even longer.

Told mommy about the "Message in a Bottle" project. No (negative) response so hopefully she will be able to see the joy that I look forward to finding from it!

So it's back to reality now:

deal medical bills

camp ronald mcdonald

apply for lakers internship

start reading Zeiton

road trip / vacation? with mommy

unicamp (fundraise!)

read the stuff for peer mentoring

... you know, all the stuff that was there before I left for New York.

I am tired right now, so I'll do a quick reflection on the trip. But I will continue it tomorrow or something :)

- thank you for the friend I have met, though some I know I probably will never talk to again, there are others who I hope to remain friends with for a very long time.

- thank you for Professor Halle and Professor Tiso who showed us around NYC and introduced us to people we would have never spoken to in our lives.

- thank you for the opportunity to experience life in the city; it's unforgettable.

- thank you for the family and friends at home who didn't forget about me while I was away.

- thank you for helping me (my knee at least) become healthy enough in time for this excessive-walking adventure.

- thank you for opening my eyes to a world that has been unknown, and still unfamiliar... but always remembered.

THANK YOU :)

Please continue to make a difference :)

You are greatly appreciated!
