When I met Michelle Zauner, lead singer of Japanese Breakfast, and autobiographical Crying in H Mart for this portrait, she was funny and sweet and I didn't know even a tenth of the multitudes she contains at that time. I'd recommend both her music and her autobiography, which gets into her relationship with her mom and her Korean identity and it also lays bare the process of grieving she goes through as her mom dies from Cancer. Zauner is honest and strong and an amazing human. I feel so honored I was able to take this portrait photo of her!

Her new album Jubilee was released June 4th!

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !!

Today is an orange day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Crazy Tuesdays is old and new. Of course we have Mr. Teddy bear with us to celebrate Happy Teddy Bear Tuesdays.

Mr. Teddy Bear has a dilemma: old or new ? What do you prefer ? New is exacting and cool and so new and so out of usual … New is the change and the challenge to adapt. But on the other hand: old is reassuring, it is what we are use to … Old is comfort and we know what to expect…

When Mr. Teddy Bear realized his old pencil was almost too old to continue to write his exciting adventures, he went pencil shopping… His old pencil was so awesome but those new guys were so shiny and new… Of course the new pencil will have to learn everything from the old one… so there is no question about throwing away the old pencil (this is the hoarder inside of me speaking ;-) !) But the choice was so difficult… New pencils looked so similar… with no distinctive signs, no character and no experience…. The old pencil was very stubborn and had an opinion on everything… but he had also the best stories to tell… the new guys were very « blah » in the eyes of Mr. Teddy Bear…

Eventually Mr. Teddy Bear will choose one new pencil… and he will try to get use to it and to make it his personal pencil… Until it becomes as awesome as his old pencil… And not so new anymore…

So are team NEW or team OLD ?

Me, I’m in the team OLD !

Happy CMWD and happy CT and happy HTBT to all participants !! And for the rest of us : happy day !!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and healthy!! And see you soon on Flickr !!

Amazing Facts About the Seagull

Seagulls are very clever. They learn, remember and even pass on behaviors, such as stamping their feet in a group to imitate rainfall and trick earthworms to come to the surface.

Seagulls’ intelligence is clearly demonstrated by a range of different feeding behaviors, such as dropping hard-shelled mollusks onto rocks so that they break open so they can eat them, and following plows in fields where they know upturned grubs and other food sources will be plentiful.

Seagulls are attentive and caring parents. The male and female pair for life and they take turns incubating the eggs, and feeding and protecting the chicks!.

Went up to Barbury castle, near Swindon. U.K. as a thunderstorm had not long passed over. Amazing views tonight

In spring we observe the beauty of the earth. In autumn we observe the beauty of the sky.

Ab und zu darf es auch eine Erdnuss sein..

Had a go at trying for a macro shot of one of these amazing little creatures. It was sitting outside my window ledge. I had good natural light which helped. I think I got as close to the spider as my lens would allow (which is 295 mm from my subject to the sensor of my camera). Worth enlarging.
