Recently, I took a few low key images by accident. Then I decided to look for opportunities to take some low and high key images on purpose. I hadn’t taken either type image on purpose for some time and it’s always a good idea to switch things up a bit so you keep things fresh for yourself.
I’ll have to go back through my archives and find that high key image of a peacock feather I posted to see how long it’s been. That feather was my first and last high key image and it took a lot of trial and error to get the light almost right.
Anyway, as I was making coffee and by making coffee I mean dropping a pod in the Keurig and waiting for it to make itself; I glanced towards the living room window. That’s a big surprise, right? Well, this high key opportunity hit me right in the face.
The morning sun was lighting up the entire backyard and it was looking bright, cheery and so beautiful. High key opportunities really don’t get any better than that I didn’t have to set up any lights or do anything special at all. The sun was doing all of the work.
So I brought the camera to the kitchen and took a few snaps of the orchids that are sitting on the counter. I think this is my favorite one but I like the other one too. I will post the other one at a later date.
I did not look at the images immediately. I had not had my coffee yet and it needed to be reheated in the microwave. I am not a fan of room temperature or cold coffee. Then it was time for caterpillar care and the day got away. LOL, Guess whos coffee is cold again.
Have a wonderful day and happy snapping.
