Another nice spring afternoon here in Edmonton Alberta. Decided to go and photograph some buildings in the area. Fortunately these two had lots of windows and the clouds provided some beautiful reflections.

Mt. Ama Dablam as seen from Kala Patthar as the sun rises and the rays just touch the summit. Only the mother mountain is visible here. No daughter/necklace mountain.
This is one of the best street shot I have taken to date, IMO, and it's pure luck.

"Ama'r" is slang for Amager, which is the part of Copenhagen this photo was taken. People living in the Amager area likes to refer to themselves as "Ama'ricans".

Ama Dablam is Ama Dablam is frequently cited as one of the most beautiful mountains in the world.
It's a mountain in the Himalaya range of eastern Nepal. The main peak is 6,812 metres (22,349 ft), the lower western peak is 6,170 metres (20,243 ft). Ama Dablam means "Mother's necklace"; the long ridges on each side like the arms of a mother (ama) protecting her child, and the hanging glacier thought of as the dablam, the traditional double-pendant containing pictures of the gods, worn by Sherpa women. For several days, Ama Dablam dominates the eastern sky for anyone trekking to Mount Everest basecamp.

This wonderful mountain dominates the view on the trek to Everest Base Camp.
This was shot at 6am from the top of Kala Pattar (5,550m). The highlight of the Everest trek is not actually base camp where you cannot see Everest, but the Kala Pattar summit, the highest point on the trek and most difficult climb because of the effects of altitude.
From the top there is a panoramic view of the the biggest mountains in the world.

Ama Dablam's main peak is 6,812 metres (22,349 feet) high and the lower western peak is 5,563 metres (18,251 ft) high.
Ama Dablam apparently means Mother and her Necklace or Mother’s Charm Box or Mother's Jewel Box. Ama means mother, grandmother or even world. Dablam means charm box,and is a special pendant worn by elder Sherpa women that holds precious items. The mountain has a hanging glacier that resembles a dablam and the two extending ridges are outstreched like a maternal embrace. I ran this meaning by our guide and I couldn't get him to corroborate this but this is what the texts say.
L'amas ouvert NGC 2203 (Hubble) est situé à 160 000 années-lumière de la Terre dans la constellation de la Table (Mensa). Dans l''amas ouvert NGC 220 contenant des étoiles environ deux fois plus massives que le Soleil, leur rotation pourrait expliquer pourquoi certaines étoiles y restent plus longtemps que d'habitude dans cette phase de la séquence principale de leur vie (cf. ESA/Hubble & NASA, L. Girardi).

Ama Ley, or Mother. Mother of Khonchuk, a nice ladhaki guy who offered us beds & meal when we stopped in Hinju before Konze La Pass.
Impossible for e to give her any age, she could be 50 or 65 years old.
