"Joy at the start
Fear in the journey
Joy in the coming home
A part of the heart
Gets lost in the learning
Somewhere along the road.
Along the road
Your path may wander
A pilgrim's faith may fail
Absence makes the heart grow fonder
Darkness obscures the trail.
Cursing the quest
Courting disaster
Measureless nights forebode
Moments of rest
Glimpses of laughter
Are treasured along the road.
Along the road
Your steps may stumble
Your thoughts may start to stray
But through it all a heart held humble
Levels and lights your way.
Joy at the start
Fear in the journey
Joy in the coming home
A part of the heart
Gets lost in the learning
Somewhere along the road"

A distant photo (cropped) of a Red Fox as it walks along the Lake Ontario shoreline, stopping momentarily as it spots me.
Thank you for viewing
Yellow-shouldered Ladybird (Apolinus lividigaster)
I have been seeing a few of these on our Hibiscus tree lately. Not easy to get a shot as they are tiny - just 3-4 mm in length - and always on the move.
I uploaded this from my phone and got sucked into using the "Brooklyn" filter from the color wheel Flickr provides lol... sometimes it's fun to play but I'm only going by my phone do I hope this was a tasteful edit to all you enthusiasts sitting looking at a proper monitor lol ughhhh I really need to learn LR
Cabot Trail, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada
The Skyline Trail on Cape Breton leads to this coastal view. When I arrived in the area, there was a raging storm with high winds, rain and fog with a forecast for continued inclement conditions. So, not to be stopped by the weather, I first hiked the trail in the storm. Thankfully I did not get blown off the cliff. The next day the storm ceased, contrary to the forecast, and after a lovely hike this coastal view appeared.

Every time I cycle along the Weser, I experience the river like new. The pictures are similar, but there is always something different to discover.
Jedesmal wenn ich an der Weser lang fahre, erlebe ich den Fluss wie neu. Die Bilder gleichen sich zwar, aber es gibt immer wieder was anderes zu entdecken.

A drowning bridge lays off in the distance. Silhouetted against a quivering, shimmering body of water. Stumps and stones along a cold and narrow path lead me towards the past. The day still early, changing, contorting, trying to figure out what its temperament will be.
What is the fate of this relic from the past? Will it be revealed once more in all its decrepit glory or will it be consigned to the depths once more waiting to be revealed at some future date?
Walking along a precarious path that we must carefully traverse. We will be the ones to ultimately determine the fate of the old ghost bridge.
Walking along the harbor in Oban, Scotland on a very windy day, I found myself quite alone until these patient seagullscaught my eye. They quietly waited for the incoming tide, scanning the waves for something good to eat.
