April 23 1990 Chicago, national ACT-UP Demonstration
During a "die in" by ACT UP protestors in front of the Chicago offices of the American Medical Association, a small group dressed as doctors staged a small "play" about the blood money being taken by what the protestors described as AIDS profiteers - large drug companies and insurance companies who refused to pay for certain AIDS treatments, or cut off the policies of people who were diagnosed as HIV positive or with AIDS.
Members who had been in the play then also "died" on the street, and police moved in to arrest them after they refused to move.
