This photograph was composed during a recent hike at Sunshine Meadows, in Canada's Banff National Park. Among other sights, it reveals the aftermath of the Verdant Creek fire in 2017, which significantly impacted a vast area, leading to closures and evacuations.
I took this photo last night after the sun went down. I should have taken a photo a little earlier as the sunset was quite stunning. 😃

Captured this with three RAW shots at -2..0..+2 EV. Digital blending in Photoshop CS6. I increased the overall saturation with Hue/Saturation in Photoshop. Curve adjustment to increase the overall contrast. 1 layer mask in soft light mode at 50% gray, using brush tool to lighten and darken some areas of the image, to bring out details. Topaz DeNoise to reduce noise. Topaz Clarity to boost color and contrast some more.

I captured this macro shot just after a light rain using a 70-200mm lens at F 2.8. I enjoy capturing images that stand off the background and are isolated in their environment. One of the best ways to do that is shallow DOF and a long focal length.

orange juice and made sure she put the story book right where she could see it when she opens her eyes.
I love taking photos of waterfalls after the rain. Waterfalls after the rain have a greater water flow and are more powerful than usual. The greenery also shines beautifully, and the wet rocks add a dramatic touch.

I drive into the city after work and then find parking along Lower Fort Street, before grabbing the back-pack and wandering around the harbour-side after dark.

After crossing the Tyne, we turned a corner and came across this nice triangular building. I'm a sucker for buildings like this, this particular one looking as if it's been dropped in between the railway and the flats opposite

Balagbag Falls in Real, Quezon province. We usually go to this town for its fresh seafood but this waterfall is too close to town not to visit. Arrived here after a downpour earlier in the morning. Climbed up to the top of the second tier and wanted to take photos from there but the water flow was just too strong and the rocks too slippery to make it with all the camera gear in tow.
Used to do a lot of HDR. now very rarely. Think it is the difference between this d300 and my d800.
Found this it had never been processed from archives.
One of our first Iris buds. Hopefully with very warm temps forecast they will be opening with lots of photo ops. :)
Took a quick walk around our yard the morning after many days of rain, very overcast. Sorry for so many photos. :) Lots of sun and very hot temps forecast the next week.

After the rain at Ankgor Wat the sky was clearing and the temple was reflected in a large pool of water that had accumulated in one of the inner courtyards. Angkor Wat is a 12th century Buddhist temple and a UNESCO World Heritage Site near Siem Reap, Cambodia.
