Quick test of the new 50mm AFS f1.8G, In my opinion I think its sharper that the D version, better bokeh and better built. It Also comes with a lens hood which is a plus (oh its also an FX lens :D), all in all think its an excellent new lens!

Test-shots with a Nikon AF-S 28/1.8G on a D800. Developed from RAW in Lightroom4 with Adobe standard settings, no lens profiles, CA-red=ON, NRed=OFF, sharpening=70/0.5/36/10. Identical WB plus some fine-tuning to make exposure totally identical across shots. These files are for personal evaluation only and cannot be used in another publication or website without permission.

The knob at the camera end of the lens is where a filter can be inserted - the lens came with a x4 ND for those really sunny days ;-)
