John Muir: All the wild world is beautiful, and it matters but little where we go, to highlands or lowlands, woods or plains, on the sea or land or down among the crystals of waves or high in a balloon in the sky; through all the climates, hot or cold, storms and calms, everywhere and always we are in God's eternal beauty and love. So universally true is this, the spot where we chance to be always seems the best.
Now here's a story. I recently took my 20 year old Mercedes E Class for it's annual service and MOT and as I drove away from the house the car's acceleration felt odd. The garage who service the car said they couldn't find the cause of the problem as 'the car is too old for our diagnostic gear'!!! They recommended that I took the car to AF Tuning. When I arrived I found a garage that looked very 1960s but it had other Mercedes, Porsches and even an E Type in for attention. AT Tuning fixed the problem and allowed me to photograph the place at the same time. Amongst all the repair gear were computers being used to diagnose faults. They are able to tackle all sorts of models and problems. I recommend them.

Bright red Olympus AF-10 bought on eBay for around 9 GBP. I have never seen another one before or after. Battery leak but working OK after cleaning. I have another black AF-10 Super which may be more usable due to flash off option. Great, sharp little lens.
UPDATE: I contacted the seller looking for more info regarding the original purchase, and they told me that the camera was bought from a pharmacy in Bairnsdale, a small town in East Gippsland in eastern Victoria (Australia) some 15 years ago. Apparently red was the only (!) color stocked by the store at the time.
Af Chapman, formerly Dunboyne (1888–1915) and G.D. Kennedy (−1923), is a full-rigged steel ship moored on the western shore of the islet Skeppsholmen in central Stockholm, Sweden, now serving as a youth hostel.
The ship was constructed by the Whitehaven Shipbuilding Company, located at Whitehaven in the English county of Cumberland (present-day Cumbria), and launched in February or March 1888. Her original owners were Charles E. Martin & Co of Dublin and she was originally known as Dunboyne, after the town of Dunboyne in County Meath, Ireland. Her maiden voyage was from Maryport, Cumberland, to Portland, Oregon, and she subsequently made voyages between Europe, Australia and the west coast of North America.

Asta har fått några nya bord och blivit lite ompysslad och uppfräschad på det legendariska träbåtsvarvet i Hällevikstrand. Jag hade sån tur att jag kom dit dagen före sjösättning, och kunde pricka in ögonblicket tidigt nästa morgon när hon sakta gled tillbaka ner i sitt rätta element.
Asta är ett k-märkt fartyg och tillhör alltså vårt skyddade gemensamma kulturarv.
The fishing boat Asta af Smögen is a world heritage ship. This famous shipyard on the island of Orust is specialized on old ships built from wood, like Asta. I was lucky to catch her early in the morning when she is launched back into the sea after some weeks of maintenance on land.

Launched in 1982, the Ricoh AF-5 is a point and shoot autofocus compact camera for 35mm film with integral flash and autofocus, manufactured by Ricoh. It's a little bulkier than its rivals from Canon (Sure Shot) and Nikon (L35AF), but is capable of similar results. The lens produces particularly contrasty photos in good light.
Minolta AF 200mm & 300mm f2.8 G APO High Speed plus 1.4X & 2X TC II APO. This is a very powerful setup in terms of IQ and reach, yet, it is very compact in size and weight for the 200mm. The 300mm is larger and heavier, but is still manageable shooting hand-held. With the 1.4X TC attached, sharpness is basically as good as without the 1.4X TC, if the aperture is closed down to f/4.5 or f/5 from f/4.0. For the 2X TC, it is better to close down to f/7 or f/8. Picture taken with Minolta AF 50mm f/1.7 on Sony A77.

One of my favourites from a test roll of film that I put through my recently purchased Olympus Trip point and shoot camera. I was under the impression that it was broken when I was using it, considering that there was no sign that the camera was metering light and it took about 10 presses of the shutter button before a photo actually took. But to my surprise, all the shots from the roll came out.
