El Royal Clipper, que ostenta el Récord Guinness por ser el barco de cinco mástiles más grande del mundo y con capacidad para 227 pasajeros, en el Puerto de Motril. El velero está inspirado en el “Preussen”, el orgullo de la famosa compañía de navegación alemana “Flying Line” a comienzos del siglo XX, y que encontró su final en el Canal de la Mancha en 1910 en una colisión contra un barco de vapor cerca de Dover. El Royal Clipper es por tanto la primera fragata de cinco mástiles construida desde entonces y buque insignia de la flota de Star Clippers Mónaco.
El velero, con casco de acero, tiene 134 metros de largo y lleva 42 velas, con un área total de 5.000 metros cuadrados. Su mástil más alto incluye una sección superior de seis metros con una bisagra que permite doblar el mástil para poder pasar bajo puentes y líneas eléctricas. El diseñador británico Donald Starkey, que ha decorado muchos de los megayates más famosos del mundo, está detrás de los acogedores interiores de estilo Eduardiano, realzados con toques náuticos tradicionales.
A bordo hay 1.800 metros cuadrados de cubierta y tres piscinas, una con suelo de cristal que filtra luz a través de un atrio de tres niveles para el salón comedor que se encuentra debajo. También cuenta con un bar tropical cubierto y zonas al aire libre, un elegante Piano Bar, una biblioteca con acceso a internet, una plataforma para deportes acuáticos y un spa con servicio de peluquería, masaje y tratamientos de belleza en habitaciones con ojos de buey para admirar el fondo marino. El alojamiento lo conforman 14 suites con balcón, dos cabinas a cubierta, 90 camarotes dobles exteriores y seis cabinas dobles interiores, todas con baño privado.

The October 2013 fascist "tea party" Putsch failed, so democracy is saved, at least until the next assault. Make no mistake, the carefully planned budget crisis at the end of Fiscal Year 2013 was not a routine political quarrel. The old Republican Party has been taken over by fascists who call themselves the "tea party." The Boston Tea Party of the 1770s was a time-honored tax protest against the British government levying excessive taxes on American colonialists without our consent, and it led to our 1775-83 War of Independence. Extremists mostly within the supposedly conservative Republican Party ussurped the good name of that old tax protest and began what was allegedly a tax protest movement a few years ago.
The fascist "tea party" is not a tax revolt. It is an attempt to completely bypass our democractic process, set aside laws they didn't like, impose an agenda that favors the richest 1% of our population, expands the power of corporations, and allows the religious nutcases to sweep aside our concept of separation of church and state. And while they were at it, the "tea party" shut down most of our government functions and threatened to destroy the credit of the US Treasury. They did not care what it would do the economic well being of the American people or friendly nations that are economically tied to us, because those rich fascists had money in offshore accounts.
The "tea party" fascists held our government, our national economy, the world economy, and the Rule of Law for ransome because they wanted to stop a healthcare law that had been passed by both houses of Congress, signed by our President, and upheld by the US Supreme Court. That healthcare law (mistakenly called Obamacare) IS the LAW.
The Republicans are mad mainly for two reasons: When millions of currently uninsured Americans eventually enroll in affordable health insurance, those people will be thankful to the Democrats rather than the Republicans. Many of the corporations do not want cheaper, better, more portable health insurance for their employees because those employees who are currently trapped in their jobs will be free to leave and obtain jobs and insurance elsewhere. Pre-existing Conditions kept people trapped in crappy jobs because, if they left, they would be uninsurable. The law abolishes pre-existing conditions regardless of what you have been diagnosed with or treated for in the past. I used to sell health insurance, and I can tell you that pre-existing conditions and uninsurability are big issues.
My European friends live in civilized nations where healthcare is provided by the government or they are required to have health insurance. Over 25% of the people in my state are uninsured. That is not civilized, and our infant mortality rate is worse than many poor Third World countries. Many fat retail chains like Sprawlmart and most fast food chains mostly hire part-time workers to avoid offering benefits like health insurance, so their poor employees have to use welfare services like Medicaid. People who do not have a qualified healthcare plan can go to www.healthcare.gov and see what is available and what subsidy they may qualify for. Yes, the website is having difficulties. Duh! Almost all new websites suffer major bugs when they are new -- like the new Flickr, the new Yahoo Groups,the new Yahoo Mail, and every time my old company installed a new and "improved" software upgrade.
Meanwhile, my President stood his ground and showed the "tea party" as unpatriotic, uncaring, and just plain stupid. No doubt they will try something dumb next year. For now the Rule of Law remains functioning.
