This is the access ramp leading to the Antelope Point Marina at Page, Arizona. The sidewalk at right is for pedestrians. The elevated ramp at left is mainly for motorized carts that transport people between the parking lot above and the marina below. The black things are flotation devices---large blocks of Styrofoam covered with rigid black plastic.
This is a shot of the Access Arm and White Room that was used on the launch pad at the Kennedy Space Center to reach the Space Shuttle. If you ever watched a Space Shuttle Launch, you no doubt saw the Astronauts in the White Room preparing to enter the Space Shuttle The Astronauts would enter the Access Arm from the left and enter the White Room on the right. With the termination of the Space Shuttle Program, various Space Shuttle artifacts are being distributed to various museums and other venues around the country for display. The Orbiter Access Arm seen here was removed from the KSC launch pad and will eventually find a home at Space Center Houston located in Houston Texas.
