Access to treatment is a key part of national strategies to combat HIV/AIDS. Antiretrovirals can increase the length and quality of life, and the productivity of patients. Research in Uganda shows that poor people will use ARVs if the price is right and if a delivery system is place. It also shows that the price of brand-name drugs fell significantly only when generics entered the market. Generic competition, the use of the public-health safeguards in the TRIPS Agreement, and urgent funding for health-service delivery are essential parts of the fight against HIV/AIDS in developing countries such as Uganda.

I am a huge fan of the All Access Ship Tour and this was the second time I have done this. I will definitely do it again. We had the Tour on February 20th, 2020 and Tyler (a member of the Shore Excursions Team from Canada) was a great guide. We all wore earpieces to hear the speakers at every stop. Next up, pop into provisioning for a jaw-dropping look at the sheer volume of ingredients it takes to make it all happen. Here’s a little preview. We go through roughly 8,500 lbs of watermelon on every cruise. Not to mention, 10,000 bananas and 32,000 potatoes (give or take a few). The itinerary includes stops in San Juan (Puerto Rico), Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas (US Virgin Islands), Tortola (British Virgin Islands), Nassau (Bahamas) before returning to Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale, Florida). The best part is that we are on Seth's Big Fat Broadway Cruise again!
The Athlone 10KM and 5KM road races were held in Clonown Village, Co. Roscommon, Ireland on Sunday 28th of April 2013 at 14:30 and 15:00. Clonown is a small townland on the west bank of the River Shannon and is situated about 3 miles south of the town of Athlone. Whilst the townland is almost completely rural it is accessed easily from major routes and towns by the M6 motorway.
This race completely defied the fact that it is only the second year of it's existence. Every aspect of the organisation was professional: from stewarting, registration, start of races exactly on time, car-parking, and post race refreshments. The 10KM route followed an anti-clockwise loop. The race started on the L2035 Togher Road (about 100m from Clonown Centre) and heads towards the old Ballinasloe Rd and back via Creggan with the finish at the Clonown Community Centre. The 5KM run was added this year to provide a managable challenge for people who are following programmes such as Operation Transformation. The 5KM race route follows a meandering around the townland. The race starts at the church in Clonown and head clockwise around the Ballinaculla townland which offers lovely views of the River Shannon. The route then goes to the Drumlosh road and runs for 1.5 km before the roundabout which is the 3km mark. The race then turns around and returns back to the village and finish at Clonown Community Centre. Both races share some of the race route for the Flatline Athlone Half held in September (www.athlonehalfmarathon.com/) which makes the race routes very fast and flat.
Overall Race Summary
Participants: Approximately 400 people took part in both events with runners, joggers, walkers, and families involved.
Weather: This was a wonderfully bright dry afternoon but a very strong wind made difficult running conditions in places.
Course: Very flat accurately measured course on rural roads and bog roadway. There were waterstops provided at various points and by locals along the route. Very well stewarded.
Refreshments: There were lots of refreshments served in the community center aftwards.

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. A foundry in Howler's Slade near Cannop belonged to Trotter, Thomas & Co in 1835. Known as the Cannop foundry, it was rebuilt in 1874 and was taken over in 1893 by Richard Young of Berry Hill and Thomas Herbert. Thomas Herbert died in 1942 and the business was taken over by his son Ewart Thomas who moved the works to the old Cinderford gas works site in 1957. The company stopped producing iron and steel castings around 1990.

Piedras Blancas Light Station Outstanding Natural Area is
located on a rugged windswept point of land six miles north of Hearst Castle along California’s scenic Highway One. First illuminated as an aid to navigation in 1875, the lighthouse still casts a beam of light to guide mariners along the rocky California coast. Today the lighthouse beckons the visitor, offering a glimpse into history and a respite from the modern world.
Access to Piedras Blancas is by guided tours only. Tours are offered year round and feature cultural and natural history, as well as spectacular scenery. The BLM is working to restore both the native vegetation and historic structures in the area. Nearby San Simeon and Cambria offer visitor services.

Hand Pumps for Community Water Supply
Location: Moradani Village, Mir Pur Sakro District Thatta Sindh.

Beneficiaries: 465 Household with an estimated population of 3600 Peoples.
Pakistan is one of the most water stressed countries in the world where total actual renewable water resources have been decreasing day by day. Presently water resources in Pakistan decreased from 5000 cubic meters per capita in 1951 to 1100 cubic meters in last year.
Currently, over 35 percent of Pakistan’s population does not have access to safe drinking water. The quality of drinking water supply is poor, with bacterial contamination, arsenic, fluoride and nitrate being the factors of major concern. Province of Sindh is one of the highly water scarce province of Pakistan. Deterioration in water quality and contamination of lakes, rivers and groundwater aquifers has resulted in increased waterborne diseases and other health impacts.
Coastal belt of Sindh is one of the highly effected areas where decreased inflow in Indus river delta is resulting in salt water intrusion from sea. This reduced water inflow destabilized eco system as well as made drinking water availability a major problem for the people especially women.
Mirpur Sakro is one of the water scarce area near coastal belt of Sindh. It is 90 kilometers away from Karachi. Since last 2 years Lodhie Foundation is providing relief to the community through installing hand pumps is this area. Lodhie Foundation is very grateful to Syed Afroze Hussaini for his generous support for the installation of 10 hand pumps in Village Mora Dani and surrounding areas located in Mirpur Sakro district Thatta Sindh.
Pumps Installation was started in Mid of August 2015 and finished in 3rd week of September 2015. Before the installation of pumps near their houses, women are used to travel 1 to 5 Kilometers to fetch a pot water for their families and cattle.
At the completion time of Hand pump installation nearly 465 households of village MoraDani and surrounding areas were enjoying clean water near their houses. Earlier they were dependent on open reservoirs, canals or open wells for drinking water. Women have to walk quiet a distance to fetch water and multiple rounds are performed to collect sufficient amount of water for their daily usage. Before the installation of hand pumps women have to walk 1 to 5 km, to fetch water which need 1 to 3 hours. Now the
condition has been improved drastically as, water is available near their homes which is a blessing for families and their cattle. Pump water is used for domestic purpose and drinking.
Availability of spare parts for repair and maintenance is not easy in remote areas. To overcome this problem each pump is supplied with necessary spares to keep it maintain without any delay.
