The title comes from the 'F.B. Access' sign, (F.B. being my initials).
This is somewhat ironic as after taking this picture, a security guard came up to me to tell me I could not take pictures of this building as it is 'Government Property' and I was being watched by people on the 3rd floor.
I asked the guy why they made the building so photogenic if you werent supposed to take pictures of it, but he had no answer.
I cant help wondering if 'the Government' dont have better things to do than look out of the window.

The ZIS 110 Series was in principle based on the 1942 Packard Super Eight 180 series.
The development of the successor of the ZIS 101 series started in 1942. Because the Sovjet Union joined the allied forces against Nazi-Germany since 1942, the Sovjets gained access to Western industry and technics. Machinery could be taken over from Packard because production of civil cars stopped in 1942.
The first 110 prototype was ready in July 1945. There were some style differences with the Packard example, like the absence of the running board, and the wrap around chrome strips on the front wings.
ZIS means Zavod Imini Stalina, or Stalin factory. After the death of Josef Stalin (1878-1953) this name stayed till 1956, when Russian contemporary history was suddenly regarded differently. The brand name was replaced by ZIL, after Ivan Likhachov (1896-1956). He was an important director of the ZIS factory.
The ZIS 110 was mainly used for official occasions, and by head of states from Russian allied countries.
Note the chrome bar at the back of the front seats. Officials could find stabile support in a driving car by holding on tightly to the bar.
This Russian ZIS 110B was part of an exhibition about the former communist state limousines. In the context of openness of state bodies in the new Czech democracy, President Václav Havel (1936-2011) decided to show the official state limousines to the people. These state cars were not in use anymore after the fall of the Iron Curtain in October/November 1989.

Years ago when electricity was hand delivered, it would be posted through these special "letterbox" style access points.

Some collieries were easy to access particularly so I found in South Wales. It also on occasions helped to have contacts. Bold Colliery was harder to get into, the formal front-door approach having been met with a definite No!
There was a footbridge which crossed the mainline which gave access for the workers who lived on the local estate and once in contact with the non-administerative staff they were very welcoming. In this photo the enthusiast on the left had however found another route which was via the entrance from the mainline which was closed so had to crawl under the gap underneath. Access to the entrance must also have been fun as he arrived covered in RoseBay Willowherb and other sundry vegetation. So not the best photo but it allows me to tell the story.

Beach 2 access point. Stayed in a fixed location watching it feed along right side of of Beach 2 shoreline.
This bird is on the review lists for Ontario and anyone who observes it is asked to submit documentation (including photos if available) to the Ontario Birds Record Committee.
Egret fed many times during the visit. Was very active and showed no signs of stress or physical problems. Has some type of feather stain on left side of head, not sure if it is natural or an old injury.
Beach #2 Presqu'ile Provincial Park, Brighton Ontario
Access to the Red Pagoda and Shiaozhai Temple is via this entrance gate and wavy floor bridge. The temple at the top is a Taoist Temple dedicated to the god Mansjuri.
After building the Three Gorges Dam and closing its gates, the Yangtze River water backed up all the way to Chongqing. It would also have placed the bottom levels of the Red Pagoda underwater in the middle of the river. So, the Chinese Government authorized construction of a coffer dam around the site. Shibaozhai is now an island in the Yangtze River.

River Dargle Flood Defence Scheme.
These images were taken during the third week of August, 2016.
Adjacent to The People's Park, a large compound is the site of continuing work along this section of the river. Some of the works are nearing completion.
Access is quite restricted here, and involves shipping material in/out via the entrance further upriver, adjacent to The Slang.
A temporary soil shelf has been laid along this wall-side, to allow better access for vehicles moving materials in and out.
Work here along the riverbank, between Glenwood and The Maltings, involves stabilisation measures (digging out a channel, and dropping in large boulders) intended to reinforce this newly constructed/shaped length of bank.
At the side of the Glenwood Road housing is a little strip of land, which previously culverted a stream. They laid new drainage piping last year. And now, they've neatly finished over with a little waterfall feature. Very pleasing aesthetically. I wonder whether there wlil be public access to a pathway on that opposite bank at some stage, running on towards Killarney Glen?

I caught up with a few flickr buddies this morning down at Collaroy beach. High tide a decent swell and finally a few clouds made for an enjoyable sunrise shoot. This was the first time i have shot this location and will be back for more.

Access to water for agriculture purposes has been a main challenge for schools participating in FAO’s project. The project has therefore provided the school with water harvesting structures (1 per school) to capture rainwater as the rainy season progresses.

Just another quick snap of yesterday's snow. I didn't get to where I wanted to be yesterday morning. For a short while, the snow was accompanied by lovely, blue skies. it wasn't long before the cloud and rain came in. After heavy rain and milder conditions the snow has disappeared fast.

The SPC challenge theme for September is 'Portals' (doors, windows, gates, tunnels, etc.).
I've always been fascinated by this door, but never stopped to photograph it until today.

Steve and I visited Indonesia for the first time in May 2018 for ten days. We made stops in Jakarta and Yogyakarta (both in Java) and Labuan Bajo in East Nusa Tenggara/ Flores. We saw friends from graduate school, and visited mosques, cathedrals, and ancient temples. We swam with fishes, manta rays, and even baby sharks. We saw amazing sunrises and endlessly beautiful sunsets. Indonesia is a generous, wonderful, and stunningly gorgeous place, and we will be glad to visit again sometime soon.

As a very fortunate decision you are not disturbed by any fancy text or interactive crap; you are allowed to fully enjoy the building itself.

The Erie Bluffs are behind me in this picture. Some areas are 80+ feet above the shore. If you're into outdoor activities this is a place that you could easily spend the whole day doing a variety of things.
