Founded in January 1135 and absorbed by the Cistercian order in 1147, later became famed for its sheep rearing and wool exports. Its church was said to be among the finest 12th-century churches in Europe.
Dissolved on 30 November 1538.

What is looking like an Inspection is in reality a search for Tiny Teddy in this Harley Shock Absorber. The two bears were on a walk through the neighborhood where they found this interesting "Spring" on a Harley motorbike. Curious Tiny Teddy was too tiny for this spring and fell through. HONDA came home crying and telling me what had happened. Fortunately we could get TINY out without any injuries.
And now the tiny little Trouble Maker got grounded for the rest of this week !

Trees are the guardian of all life. They protect humans and wildlife. Mankind is destroying Mother Earth and the trees stand strong and the trees absorb the toxic air caused by greed and destruction. Each tree is unique and has its own vibe.

“...Absorbed in the new scents, the sounds, and the sunlight...”
The ongoing news of environmental disasters can seem overwhelming, even from the other side of the globe. My heart breaks a little with every news story. Right now the focus is on the suffering, and the brave heros trying to prevent further loss and suffering, but what happens after the headlines fade? We must take better care of this blessed planet, my friends, or our home may all too soon become uninhabitable. It isn't just the forests, or the animals that we could lose. It isn't even all about the horrific headlines from one disaster or another. How do we get back to normal? What is the new normal? We have this beautiful planet that seems to be able to heal itself and absorb disaster after disaster, but for how long? What if we seriously started thinking and behaving as good caretakers of what we have? Could we avoid numerous disasters, or at least make them less catastrophic? Rather than today's focus on the fear, the pain and suffering, and the staggering losses; what if we could learn to focus on love?
I am dedicating this post to the concept that we can have a beautiful home, but we must take good care of it. Love your planet. Love, they say, can move mountains. 🙏🙏🙏❤
Special thanks to my sweet AD for helping me with this one. ♥♥♥

During sunset, the snow-white walls of the monastery absorb sunlight.
View of the New Jerusalem Monastery from the wall.
The New Jerusalem Monastery is one of the most famous and revered monasteries of the central part of Russia, the main feature of which is that the Resurrection Cathedral located here was built in the image and likeness of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher on Calvary in Jerusalem, although the outer monasteries are completely different from each other.
In the Resurrection Cathedral, as in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem, there are three main shrines of Christians:
Golgotha is a small rock where Christ was crucified (in Greek the word "Golgotha" means a frontal place)
Cuvuclia - a small chapel with the Holy Sepulcher, the burial place of Christ
Temple of the Resurrection of the Savior, the place of the life-giving resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Golgotha, the place of the crucifixion of Christ, is located on the second tier of the temple; a staircase to the right of the main entrance leads to it. In a small room, a cross was installed, made in Jerusalem and the same size as the Jerusalem Cross of God. Also here is a stone with a crack imitating a rock that broke at the time of the Savior’s death, when the blood of Christ was shed on it.
On the west side, a rotunda was attached to the temple with a huge two-tier dome, in the center of which was built a cavern, that is, a chapel with the Holy Sepulcher. Here is a bed on which the body of Christ was placed in a cave on the side of Mount Calvary.
In the temple next to the entrance is the Stone of Anointing, to which the Savior’s body was transferred, when it was removed from the cross, here he was anointed with peace (fragrant oil) and prepared for burial.
In the New Jerusalem Monastery, as in Jerusalem, the entrance to the temple is located on the south side. In the eastern part is the underground church of Saints Constantine and Helena, located at a depth of six meters. The legend has been preserved that it was at such a depth that Queen Helen found the Life-giving Cross. The Israeli temple of Constantine and Helen carved into the rock.

AUTUMN LEAVES - Eva Cassidy & the London Symphony Orchestra
Now that Summer takes it's leave
and dragonflies fly off to places where I've never been
all that remains are faded remnants; leaves and weaves
of the empty spaces held fast between my dreams
The Autumn air smells cool and sweet
with rotten windfall apples and fruit
fly-blown and maggoty at my feet
intoxicating the air; stuck with prickly thistly hirsute
My eyes are drawn to narrow slits
peering between my lashes
the sentinels of pegs are pits
burned and coal-like; ombred ashes
The golden orb web spider's lacework
is spun and hanging out to dry
warm September sun a simmering perk
of the shimmering dream catcher that caught my eye
Sombre hues and orbs of light
fill the air with tangible tones
feelings are high; moods delight
a poet's dream felt deep in bones
Tread gently on the fallen leaves
make your footprint light
enrich the Earth will all it needs
go with the flow; embrace the endless night
For after Autumn, Winter follows
and the land falls asleep and hibernates
but Spring will come; fill up the hollows
and Summer will come to warm terracotta slates
The stillness of the evening; the peace and quiet
the quickening mood when Summer visitors flee
is felt very deeply in the fading riot
of flowers beneath the weeping willow tree
I shed not a tear at Summer's end
for every time comes and goes with reason
and I am a chameleon that twists and bends
and acclimatises to every season.

Light show at the Supertree Grove. A fascinating experience.
Gardens by the Bay is a large nature park in the Central Region of Singapore, adjacent to the Marina Reservoir. At the core of the part is Supertree Grove. Supertrees are tree-like structures that dominate the Gardens' landscape with heights that range between 25 metres (82 ft) and 50 metres (160 ft). They are vertical gardens that are home to enclaves of unique and exotic ferns, vines, orchids and also a vast collection of bromeliads such as Tillandsia, amongst other plants. They are fitted with environmental technologies that mimic the ecological function of trees: photovoltaic cells that harness solar energy which can be used for some of the functions of the Supertrees (such as lighting), similar to how trees photosynthesize, and collection of rainwater for use in irrigation and fountain displays, similar to how trees absorb rainwater for growth. The Supertrees also serve air intake and exhaust functions as part of the conservatories' cooling systems. The Grove offers a nightly light and music show, called Garden Rhapsody. Instead of going for a walk with the camera on this extremely hot day I got absorbed in studying these yellow flowers - each of them a tiny character, the group of them tired dancers in the heat.
It really was fun recognizing their differences and what they seemed to 'express'.

A Crazed Girl
by William Butler Yeats
THAT crazed girl improvising her music.
Her poetry, dancing upon the shore,
Her soul in division from itself
Climbing, falling She knew not where,
Hiding amid the cargo of a steamship,
Her knee-cap broken, that girl I declare
A beautiful lofty thing, or a thing
Heroically lost, heroically found.
No matter what disaster occurred
She stood in desperate music wound,
Wound, wound, and she made in her triumph
Where the bales and the baskets lay
No common intelligible sound
But sang, "O sea-starved, hungry sea.'
12-february-2021: snow is white, so it is a body that reflects light 90% (albedo 0,9 out of 1), therefore maintaining the originary wavelength.
Contrary to what is believed, it is clear bodies, those that reflect the light the most, apparently "color themselves" more, reflecting and therefore making the wavelengths of the colors of the light they reflect reach from those bodies; on the other hand, it is the bodies that most absorb light, especially dark ones, those that light up well and change their apparent color less, precisely because they absorb light, which does not mean "turning on", but making it one's own by not showing it.
The snow, therefore, pure white, is really white only when illuminated by an equally clear and pure light, like the sun on a clear day; already in the shade, on a bright and flawless day, we notice that it generally becomes bluish, reflecting the light of the clear sky, as well as in the evening.
But it can have many shades, even very strong ones, such as pink-orange at sunset, or the less fascinating yellow and gray in pale sunny or cloudy days.

Le bruit des feuilles mortes qui rayent le trottoir
Mon reflet dans cette flaque mais j'peux plus me voir...

Been once more outdoors for some shooting. While i rested on an parkbench i created this scenery. The contrast between the bench and the flowers made them almost pop out.
Even Color does not exist, but is created in our brains. In order to see color we need light, an object and our eyes. Color arises in the presence of light. Whenever light falls on an object, some of the rays are reflected by the object and the remainder is absorbed. The part that is reflected, determines the color.
Our eyes cannot perceive the light that is absorbed by an object. An apple, for example, absorbs all colors, except green. Because the green is reflected and is captured by our eyes, we see the green color of the apple.
The most ideal light for seeing color is diffuse daylight, when the sun is more or less behind the clouds and it is slightly rainy. This produces the most truthful colors.

Winter Queen walks serenely and silently onward,
As if floating across frosted, muted landscapes.
Her floor trailing coat a cool watercolour flash,
Against a backdrop of silhouetted, bare branches and trunks,
Nodding seed heads on stalks,
And pale, grey skies that envelope it all.
Much of her is covered, her face exposed,
Brown skin glowing with beauty and warmth,
From a heart whose fire stays burning ever gently.
Her head turns one way and another to survey,
This precious wintry realm of stark splendour,
She made a promise to Autumn to keep and protect.
Her brilliant crown of snowflakes, stars and Winter roses,
Sits atop her afro of tight, silver curls,
Sparkling as it catches the meek light of the sunshine.
She is regal indeed, with an aura of nobility,
Not by birth, an inflated manmade construct,
But by nature’s hand, by earth’s seasonal wand.
She embraces her purpose with grace and wisdom,
Presiding over the cold and hardened earth.
Much of the natural world lies sleeping and biding,
Until time and warmth signal approaching Spring,
Tingling along patient roots, expectant stems,
Unfurling tendrils and hopeful buds.
She moves through Wintered woods, over snowy mounds,
looking for signs of creatures in hibernation.
Are they safe in their cosy, ecologically friendly homes?
Lying still beneath twiggy, mossy roofs?
Entwined in sleeping bags made of Autumn’s leaves?
Yes, she is satisfied they are biding their time too.
Signs of life remain on chilled earth and air,
Whilst others have sought out more hospitable climes.
Winter Queen has no favourites, but gains much joy and comfort,
From the valiant efforts of her winged and feathered friends.
How they flit and chatter, how they sing and soar,
How they commune and continue from dawn until dusk.
Her predominant responsibility is with the natural world.
However Winter Queen spares many a contemplation,
For the beings that live alongside and beyond hers,
For their world struggles for balance and this imbalances hers.
Love and kindness are in abundance there too,
But there also exists much anguish and injustice.
She sends her good wishes from within to without,
Calling on icy fractals to accept and absorb them,
Chilled, undulating airwaves to disperse and broadcast them.
She yearns for the people to heed the picture of Winter,
To see beyond the oils and pastels of it’s starkness,
For in it’s canvas are woven the themes for survival.
The fabric of love and life exist in their preservation,
In conservation, restoration and their essential protection.
For the continuance of the self, of humanity, of nature,
Of the gifts the universe has bestowed and made plenty.
Time taken to rest and to heal gathers strength,
And energy for future endeavours and strides.
Quiet pensiveness has descended over person, land and tree,
A calm introspection, remembrance and honesty.
But in earth’s stillness is a fruitful dormancy,
A preparation for growth and for challenges ahead,
A continuance of gentle but necessary proaction,
For with action comes hope and hope must survive.
Winter Queen will walk the earth, a beacon of reassurance,
Until the transition is upon her and temperatures begin to rise.
Nature’s excitement will grow and in the distance she will see,
Her sister Queen ready to embrace and to thank her,
To graciously receive the baton of hope and life,
For her task of conducting Spring’s mass awakening.
Glastonbury Tor is a hill at Glastonbury in the English county of Somerset, topped by the roofless St Michael's Tower, a Grade I listed building. The whole site is managed by the National Trust, and has been designated a scheduled monument.
The conical hill of clay and Blue Lias rises from the Somerset Levels. It was formed when surrounding softer deposits were eroded, leaving the hard cap of sandstone exposed. The slopes of the hill are terraced, but the method by which they were formed remains unexplained. Artefacts from human visitation have been found, dating from the Iron Age to Roman eras.
I did stand in the balcony for quite a long time to absorb all the beauties that day had to offer in silence and prayed with gratitude for the enormous gift, until the natural sunset lights almost faded and the city lights started appearing everywhere like breaking the silence in a very solemn moment.
I kept repeating dhikr in my heart- "Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, Subhan-Allah-il-Azim" (Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, Subhan-Allah-il-Azim" (Glory be to Allah and His is the praise, (and) Allah, the Greatest is free from imperfection); almost like a reflex, and with the feeling as if the whole world had paused for the moment.
I went back to my old childhood days - the first days of falling in love with the beauties of the creations; where sunset skies were perhaps the most inspiratory of all other nature elements I was attentive to - the days when I used to enjoy the enchantments every day standing on the rooftop with the whole sky above me and wondering with fascination how much beauties can this little world within the great universe out there hold. The days were good; sweet and good ❤️
PS. I finished my journey with 'The Hobbit' and it kind of left an unexpressable heartache inside me. It was a great adventure, after all.

The North America Nebula (NGC 7000) is an emission nebula in the constellation Cygnus, close to Deneb. The nebula was discovered by William Herschel in 1786 and its shape is vaguely visible under dark, transparent skies with the help of a nebula filter. However, the distinctive reddish color, due to hydrogen atoms emission and its prominent shape show up in photographs of the area, which is incredibly rich in hydrogen-alpha emission nebulosity (the nebulosity visible at lower left is part of the adjacent Pelican Nebula, IC 5070).
Interstellar dust between the nebula and the Earth absorbs some of the light of the nebula and is therefore responsible for the shape of the nebula that resembles that of North America. Images from Spitzer Space Telescope in the infrared have revealed that young, massive stars are hidden behind the dark dust clouds that form the "Gulf of Mexico" area and might be responsible for the radiation that excites the hydrogen atoms and makes the nebula to glow.
The distance to the nebula is estimated to be about 1800 light years and its diameter about 100 light years.

At 33km long, Abraham Lake [created in 1972 after the construction of The Bighorn Dam] is Alberta’s longest manmade lake and sports the same magnificent turquoise waters found in many famous lakes in the mountain parks. [...].The water color is a result of very fine glacial sediments suspended in the water, which absorbs the red portion of the light spectrum. [...].

There is no Love without Pain only when you are willing to give all of yourself will you be able to feel true Love and lose yourself in it and become absorbed in it and see your divine light . . . . so love as if there were no tomorrow . . because life is too short to spend it without love in your heart.

Image captured inside the Azkuna Center (Azkuna Zentroa) formerly "Alhóndiga Bilbao" was originally an old wine warehouse located in the town of Bilbao (Vizcaya, Spain). Since 2010 rehabilitated and converted into the city's leisure and culture center. This original modernist style building by the architect Ricardo Bastille and built between 1905 and 1909, this architecture is one of the first examples of public architecture in reinforced concrete.
In 1919 it suffered a fire and subsequent restoration. Closed for a long time, in the 1980s its adaptation as a cultural center was considered with the participation of Jorge Oteiza. This project was frustrated and shortly after an alternative one emerged in Bilbao, the Guggenheim Museum project, which led to Oteiza's criticism and a controversy that only died down due to the unusual success of the new museum.
Finally, the Alhóndiga was reformed as a multipurpose civic center, with the intervention of designer Philippe Starck, and was inaugurated on May 18, 2010.
The interior presents a diaphanous configuration in which the attractiveness of the possibility of experiencing the totality of the space corresponding to a block of the Ensanche de Bilbao is combined with the geometric rigor of the structure, this provides remarkable perceptions of the space modulated by it. .
My photograph shows a corner of that enormous space, softly lit inside in contrast to the natural light that enters through its open spaces to the outside.
