This Texas sized Black Bee was drinking water from the edge of our water fountain in the front yard, I got as close as I could without disturbing it. Took a few shots and backed off. The details on this images are very detailed to say the least. Especially the Eye's.!!!!!!!

We've had days of rain...but this morning the sun was out... and everything was glorious and colorful and lush and sparkling with raindrops. I probably took 100 photos this morning before 9am. Because it's "Gorgeous Green Thursday", I thought this photo would be appropriate. I hope you like it, too.

This was a hand held shot with my Nikkor 50mm lens. SOOC (Straight out of Camera)

The absolutely stunning Fort Stevens Beach is dominated by miles of pure golden sand. That being said there is also the wreck of the Peter Iredale. She ran aground on 25th October 1906 and has gradually deteriorated ever since. My real subject here was the gull on a walk about on the sands but the wreck and couple add nicely to the silhouette.

Although a captive bird still absolutely incredible to watch . I for 1 hope the reintroduction program for these magnificent birds goes well and the silly stories in the press about 8 ft killer eagles are not a detriment to these creatures after all it was through our hands they became extinct .Lets hope these iconic birds come as big a success as the red kite !!

Absolutely fuming that my main target of the day was the only time two trains passed one another here! Looking absolutely pristine, 43049 heads south from Penrith with the 1Z71 Carlisle-Plymouth as a frustratingly close pendo heads north with a Euston-Glasgow service. Had the HST not been a few minutes late and had the pedno not been 8 minutes down there would've been around 10 minutes difference but as fate would have it, it didn't go my way again and for the second time in 4 days I got bowled by a passenger service.

Absolutely the last light of the day, aligned perfectly with Cass Avenue, down to the old Cotton Belt freight depot in St. Louis.

TRRA T201 heads down the Merchants District on its way to BNSF's Lindenwood yard, with Pam at the helm.

Such an Extraordinary and highly detailed capture of this Bee working hard to gather as much pollen it can carry and eat, not to mention the wonderful flower that it is working on at that moment.Taken with my Canon 50D with 60mm Macro lens. Hope Y'all like it.?

Absolutely love these little birds, particularly as they take a moment to pause and rest. Hummingbirds rest a significant % of the time given the amount of energy required to fly. I absolutely love the colour in the background making the image very soft

This absolutely lovely 1966 Austin Mini was going really well. The car was sold with the standard 848 cc engine but under the bonnet it now houses a larger 1,293 cc replacement. All cars are timed on the hill climb and it is really surprising to note that these original series Mini's outpace many a car with a much greater racing pedigree. I won't embarrass the owners of the other marques, suffice to say that virtually all race tuned versions of production cars from the 1960's through to the present day would struggle to compete with the best of these Mini's. They are lightweight, low to the ground and from personal experience really exhilarating to drive.

Photo taken at last weekend's annual Classic car event at Harewood Hill. I thought a diagonal presentation might help emphasis the speed of the event.

Absolutely delighted to see my first North American jewelled spider fly (Eulonchus sp.) in my garden. They are brilliantly metallic colored and have bizarrely small heads (hence their other common name, small-headed flies). More pictures of this little oddball to come.
