My last upload of this year.
We've had so many grey days the last two months in the Netherlands, but not at this evening in November!
Kamnik, Slovenia. The new parish church of Mary's Immaculate Conception in Šutna preserved the bell tower of the old church, which today stands independently next to the church. The initiative for construction was given in 1734 by the priest Maximilijan Leopold Rasp (1673-1742), and it was built according to the plans of the architect Gregor Maček (1701-1745). The painting of the presbytery was entrusted to the baroque painter Franc Jelovšek (1700-1764). In the church, on a special plinth made by architect Plečnik, there is also a copy of Layer's painting of the Mother of God from Brezje, created under the brush of Kamnik painter Lojze Perek (1909-1980).
Winter is a fun time to go up on the Colorado National Monument. Often you can get above the clouds.

A sparrow sits upon an aging sunflower which has gone to seed. Its next move will be to go after those seeds. I like the angle I caught this with the sparrow hiding the drooping sunflower stalk almost like it is sitting on a cloud.

The view from the Opabin trail above Mary Lake. The clouds opened up for a few minutes and the sun illuminated the far side of the valley.
