How about one from a business car trip from a past life in a land far away....
This is what I wrote at the time when originally shared on RP more than a dozen years ago:
Here's a view looking forward from the back platform of Alaska Railroad business car 2000, the "Aurora." On this day the ARR was running a special charter for Japanese Airlines transporting 250 happy Japanese visitors from Fairbanks to Anchorage. The ARR tacked their business car on the rear for an operations staff meeting, but a few moments were stolen away enroute for some photography. Here the twin SD70MACs on the head end can be seen as the 10 car train wends its way south through the treacherous confines of the Healy Canyon and the frozen Nenana River far below.

About Khao Sam Roi Yot
Located in coast of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, it is the first marine national park of Thailand. Khao Sam Roi Yot means "The mountain with three hundred peaks" and refers to a series of limestone hills along the Gulf of Thailand with highest one at 605m above the sea level. The northwest corner of the mountain range is called Thung Sam Roi Yot and is mainly freshwater marsh covering nearly 37% of the national park which makes it the largest wetlands area in Thailand.
The main attractions of the national park are Phraya Nakhon Cave with it's iconic royal pavilion and huge chambers, Kaeo Cave and Thung Sam Roi Yot Freshwater Marsh. The park is also an attractive destination for it's rich wildlife in mangrove forests, beautiful beaches, limestone islands, trails and view points. It is easily acessible, only 60 km south from Hua Hin and nearly 3 hours from Bangkok.
Just about caught the sun setting behind the cliff tops at Little Haven in Pembrokeshire, Wales a week ago. The plan was to take long exposures of the rocks/sea. But i made a rookie mistake and forgot to actually check the tide times!
There's nothing special about the angle, or the train, just some winter sunlight and fresh snow on the hills.
CN Q117 hustles through the town of Rosedale, nearing the end of its unopposed run through the Directional Running Zone. Ahead lies slow orders, and a lineup of trains queuing up to meet opposing traffic as they approach metro Vancouver, British Columbia.
The background is dominated by the snow capped peaks of Mount Cheam, a 6,903ft summit in the Cascade Range, and the effective eastern end of the Fraser River Valley. This snow is fresh, and only the second round of snow to touch the higher elevations in the area this winter. As of now, Vancouver and the Fraser Valley have yet to have any snow touch down at ground level. I do enjoy the 'frosted' peaks as background, but am fine without having to commute in the white stuff.

Eighteen days old, this little beauty is about six weeks younger than the colt, shown previously. She is such a little lady! Look at her eyelashes!
She is very sweet and wants to be hugged and scratched. She is playful and funny, and is growing into a beautiful wee girl.
Her mother also appears in my photo stream - “Ride On”, and if the new wee filly is anything like her, she’ll grow up to be a huge, gentle Black Clydesdale.
A lovely wee foal, here, she is in the foal paddock...It’s been too hot to have her out in full sun, all day, so my friends turn her and her mother out when the sun goes down and take them back to the stable in the morning, before the heat builds up.

At about 3000 feet elevation, Clear Lake (Oregon) is a mountain lake formed by an ancient lava flow.
This kayak view of the vine maple in fall color on the black lava gives the impression that they are on fire. The still day provided a fine reflection.
Gorgeous eye spots.....and it was gone in the morning from the sheltered spot I placed it for the night.
About a month after my previous two posts, I found this nice lash leading 687 through the bucolic part of the Watertown Sub between Fall River and Reeseville. Correct leader or trail fail? You be the judge.
Speaking of the trailer, SOO 6044 was probably on it's 12th iteration of number boards at this point. It was one-of-three Candy Apple 60's left and they were always pretty neat to see on the road. Towards the end here, 6044's paint was really starting to get bad. But it would be put out of it's misery a couple years later and emerge as CP 6303 in the revived beaver scheme.
And why didn't I take the time to chop down the weeds covering MT1? No clue. Either I was lazy or, more likely, I thought they added something to the frame. Young and dumb. I wish I could say I've gotten smarter in the seven years since.
I walked about a mile before I found these lovely Shaggy Scalycaps only to realise that I had left the camera battery on charge in the house!!! Big Doh!!! I knew there was a spare in the car, decided to go back for it. That's how much I love fungi :-)

How about a little look into the past? Here you can see Loket Castle, which is located in the small town of Loket in the Czech Republic.
The castle has been extensively restored and is definitely worth a visit. The oldest parts of the complex date back to the 12th and 13th centuries. So a real medieval castle. The builder could be a minister of the famous Emperor Frederick 1st Barbarossa.
It is an impressive building and photogenic too.
Wie wäre es mit einem kleinen Blick in die Vergangenheit ? Hier seht Ihr die Burg Elbogen, die sich im kleinen Ort Loket in Tschechien befindet.
Die Burg ist sehr aufwendig restauriert und auf jedem Fall eines Besuch wert. Die ältesten Teile der Anlage stammen bereits aus dem 12. und 13. Jahrhundert. Also eine echte Mittelalter Burg. Der Erbauer könnte ein Minister des berühmten Kaisers Friedrich I. Barbarossas sein.
Ein beeindruckendes Gemäuer und fotogen ist es auch noch.

A torrential rain period is about over now in Suriname. Because of this, the country had to open the floodgates of its main reservoir called Afobaka Dam that produces nearly all the electricity of the country. But opening the floodgates affect the level of the river and a lot of the neighboring constructions such as the Bergendal Resort in Brokopondo, Suriname.
Een periode van hevige regenval is nu zo goed als voorbij in Suriname. Hierdoor moest het land de sluizen openen van zijn belangrijkste stuwmeer, de Afobaka-dam, dat bijna alle elektriciteit van het land produceert. Maar het openen van de sluizen heeft invloed op het niveau van de rivier en veel van de aangrenzende constructies, zoals het Bergendal Resort in Brokopondo, Suriname.

Por causa disso, o país teve que abrir as comportas de seu reservatório principal, denominado Barragem de Afobaka, que produz quase toda a eletricidade do país.
