Part 1. ABC NO RIO, is an important cultural establishment on the Lower East Side. Seriously, I'm pretty sure its a rec center of some kind. I've seen a hardcore matinée there...
This is a modern take on this shot, not much has changed in 43 years really. The old ABC Cinema has been empty for ages now. I must say despite its history in the town, the building, like most of the Waterdale is very dour, functional and quite ugly.

Now if I was going to haunt anywhere when I am dead, it will be ABC Carpet & Home. I will happily float over the big pond and spend the rest of eternity happily haunting its eight floors. ABC Home and Carpets is a well known Interior Stylist's Mecca. I swear that they drug you when entering that building, I cannot keep my eyes from bulging or my mouth from eating flies. The shop displays are out of this world; nobody touches them, in my opinion, nobody! And there are so many gorgeous things! Vintage and modern furniture, lighting, dinner ware, jewellery, fabrics, bathware, bedware and obviousley the most fabulous carpets, I could witter on about this place until the cows come home! There is a slim possibility that we STYLE NV might work with them soon, but I'll leave it at that, no jinxing things.
For this quilt I used four squares for each letter-like B for Bike or R for Robots. To finish it off (26 letters did not make for a good size!) I threw in some random rainbow colors on the bottom row. On the back I used some ultra-cuddle fabric with numbers on it (I am coming to love fuzzy back quilts!). This was so fun to do! I might need to make another one for us to keep...
The first three chapters of Agatha Christie's 'The ABC Murders' have now been published in 'Asahi Weekly', Japan. Here's an illustration I designed for Chapter 3.
For those who've never read the novel, the initial premise is that a serial killer is murdering people with alliterative names. The murders follow an alphabetical order, starting with a victim whose initials were A. A., and appear to lack a motive.

Over the coming months, thousands of gleaming letters of the alphabet will be constructed, imaginatively designed and equipped with LEDs and receivers. And all these constructors are invited to bring their letters to Linz’s riverside Donaupark on the evening of September 1, when these works of art will get connected up to the voestalpine Klangwolke and become part of a gigantic spectacle. After all: it’s the interplay with thousands of other letters that enables each individual character to unfold its full potential—to become components of words, and, in turn, sentences in which information morphs into communication.
