This is dedicated to littlefoot mek, she wrote a great testimonial for me. She has been my contact for a long time and we crossed paths on my very first post to the Bokeh Wednesday group. So I felt it would be best to dedicate this HBW shot to her, Thanks you are truly a good friend.

NO MORE STRESS !!!!!!
"Stress is like dark chocolate. A little of it won't kill you. In fact, small blocks here and there can be good for you, or at least give you a reason to get out of bed in the morning. But chronic and severe stress can damage your body and mind, blocking the fluid communication to and from most organs--especially in the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis and in the limbic system, the brain's emotional center. Believe me, you want these two systems running as smoothly as possible, with low levels of the delinquent stress hormones in your bloodstream."
~Therese J. Borchard

Crocus is a genus of perennial flowering plants, native to a large area from coastal and subalpine areas of central and southern Europe (including the islands of the Aegean), North Africa and the Middle East, across Central Asia to western China.
There are about eighty species of crocus (of which approximately 30 are cultivated). Their color varies enormously, although lilac, mauve, yellow and white are predominant.

(Quelle: Wikipedia)

Warhol of Tomitheos
"I just had to make one of these classic wall arts." -Tomitheos
Great Wall of Faces
16 faces of Tomitheos in honor of the
16 mm avant-garde film art of Andy Warhol
Andy Warhol was good friends and collaborator with 20th century pop artist Keith Haring.
Andy Warhol's real name is 'Andrew Warhola' born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, August 6, 1928 and died at his prime age of only 59 years old on February 22, 1987 from medical complications after a gall bladder operation.
In 1945 Andy Warhol entered the Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University) where he majored in pictorial design. Upon graduation, Andy Warhol moved to New York where he found steady work as a commercial artist.
Andy Warhol worked as an illustrator for several magazines including Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and The New Yorker; he did advertising and window displays for retail stores such as Bonwit Teller and I. Miller.
Prophetically, his first assignment was for Glamour magazine for an article titled "Success is a Job in New York."
The 1960's were an extremely prolific decade for Andy Warhol as he created many paintings that remain icons of 20th-century art, such as the famed Campbell's Soup Can paintings.
Andy Warhol also made several 16mm films which made him an avant-garde filmmaker and his films have become underground classics such as Chelsea Girls, Empire and Blow Job.
In 1968, Valerie Solanas, founder and sole member of SCUM (Society for Cutting Up Men) walked into Warhol's studio, known as the Factory, and shot the artist.
The shooting attack was nearly fatal.
In his honor the Andy Warhol Museum opened in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in May 1994.

This is a photo of the downtown Seattle public library. Built by Rem Koolhass, this piece of modern architectural art is as amazing on the inside as it is outside. This structure has been shot a ton so I really tried to give it something I hadn’t seen before. Out of all my shots that day, this one “popped” most for me. I brought out my wide angle lens (14mm full frame) and got really low to the ground for this shot. Standing on the corner, I could just barely squeeze in the entire structure. I waited for the sun to peek through the buildings downtown and captured the reflection on the side of the building, which I felt added to the dramatic nature of the structure. As you can see, there is a bit of lens flare, but I actually liked it this time. If you follow the flare trail, you can see it reflected all the way to the street sign on the left, which is ultimately why I decided to keep the street pole in. I really liked all the angles in this shot!
If you like this kind of funky perspective, here's another one of the Seattle Center.

The sun came out today! But it was cold and windy. I wanted to try a shot that had sun glare in it and that was very harshly lit. The wind blew my hair over my eyes and I caught a shot of myself moving it. The original was very very hazy.
My camera and my 50mm have become like best friends that don't see each other as often as they should. I love the 50.
So let me tell you a sad little story. There is a white snow geese (according to my next door neighbor) that has made home near our house. It is the only one around and it was accepted into a group of Canada geese. It spent a few weeks with them and seemed to be fitting in quite well. The last couple of weeks the geese have been pairing up for mates. The goose tried getting others to notice it, but stayed alone. Today the last of the geese paired up and the snow goose was left alone. Today it sat alone making cries. I felt for the geese, I really did. It looked so sad and alone. Poor goose.
Things I learned today:
Geese only breed with their own species.
After several years living in upstate New York this was our first trip in New York City.
O well, we have a friend who was born and raised in New York State whose
first visit in NYC was last month! LOL
This was taken last year, and I will be going back there this Spring.
Have a gorgeous day my friends!

It's nearly time for all of us to say goodbye to Salzburg, after the next two photographs I'll be taking you to another beautiful city in Austria.
Will it be greener pastures? Only Laurie and I know...
This is a similar point of view to my first photo of Salzburg, which you can see here, but I still wanted to post it. I got pretty lucky with some interesting light. There's no HDR or shadows/hightlights with this shot. Just bumped up some contrast and darkened some areas. The sun was shinning and was lighting up the foreground nicely, even though it was almost completely overcast. As you can see from the dark ominous sky over the Hohensalzburg Fortress.
If you haven't been following my photographs of Salzburg take some time to check them out if you like here.
As for everyone else, thanks for visiting my stream and being so supportive while I take you on our journey through Europe, in our Year in France.

EXPLORE #205
This is similar to the F355 shot I uploaded back in late January with three key differences.
- The sun is reflecting in the water
- Better angle for the car
- No Flamingo flock flying
I would have preferred to have this composition with the flamingos flying, but unfortunately when doing sunset shoots, time is your enemy and I was in too much of a hurry. Lesson learned.
I used three Canon flashes triggered by Canon flash transmitter (580EX, 580EXII and 430EX).

Surfing is not normal in Andalusia. The waves will only be big enough after a winter storm to get a good surf.
Hiking along the chalk cliff coast of Rügen, Germany's largest island, I was scouting for other interesting places to take pictures around the time of sunrise.
One of the places I found was this one. The picture you see here was taken about 80 minutes before actual sunrise and involved setting my alarm clock to a really un-holiday time, freeing my car of ice (it was during the cold strike in Europe during January, but luckily, a bit less harsh on the coast), driving 30 minutes to a hiker's parking area and then walking 30 minutes with a flashlight through the dark forest of Nationalpark Jasmund and eventually getting down to a place called "pirate bay", with a rumored treasure chest still being digged in somewhere here...
At the time of taking this picture, it still was very dark, of course, which is why you can still see all these stars.
For taking this picture, I again used the Tokina 11-16mm lens and put my tripod at a low ground level. At this time, the shot ended up taking 15 seconds with a 2.8 aperture and ISO 200, resulting in soft water, of course. A nice detail I like is the light of the ship you can see at the horizon.
Watch next week for how this same place looks like 5 minutes after sunrise. :)

Blesi (the blazer) is a hot spring pool at the Geysir Area in Iceland. It's just a few metres away from the two geysers Strokkur (which you can see erupting in the background) and the Great Geyser.
The waters of the pool are turquoise blue, but you can't really see that because of the reflection.
I'll post a closeup below where you can see the source of the pool under the surface, leading to the centre of the earth!

I couldn't resist taking this shot, even though I know there a lot of sky/sunset shots out there from far more picturesque locations than my kitchen window!
The cloud momentarily looked rather like some kind of cartoonish creature running across the sky...
As a side note, I know the processing may not to be all's taste, but it's surprisingly close to what was actually there. London can manage some pretty good skies when it puts it's mind to it.

~ A playful mallard greets me at the pond with a few water tossing dunks and flap. ~
I studied ducks for over two years on a daily basis and can tell you many things about how they survive day to day and all about body language. Very unique personalities for each of them and one common love for fresh seeds as posing payment.
I hope everybody is having an outstanding weekend in their own special way and that the happiness of this Mallard may bring a bit of joy to anyone looking for some.
Have a great night / day.. (depending on the World's rotation)

It's interesting seeing the fisherman come in early morn and with all the clothing - long gum boots, hat ++ and just wade into the water.
I have been to this spot a few times and this was the only time I got this........one from archives - long forgotten. Shot with my 18-200VR lens...not great at the long range...a bit soft which I do not like !!!! but loved the fisherman, and the mist rising up in the backend
