''Somebody yelled something was falling. We didn't know if it was desks coming out. It turned out it was people coming out, and they started coming out one after the other. ... We saw the jumpers coming. We didn't know what it was at first, but then the first body hit and then we knew what it was. And they were just like constant. ... I was getting sick. I felt like I was intruding on a sacrament. They were choosing to die and I was watching them and shouldn't have been. So me and another guy turned away and looked at a wall and we could still hear them hit.''
...Firefighter Maureen McArdle-Schulman.
''It was evident that we weren't going to be able to get to people above the fire. Based on the number of jumpers, we could only assume that hundreds of people were trapped. ... Then the building started to come down. My initial reaction was that this was exactly the way it looks when they show you those implosions on TV. I would have to say for three or four seconds anyway, maybe longer, I was just watching. It was interesting to watch, but the thing that woke everybody up was the cloud of black material. It reminded me of 'The Ten Commandments' when the green clouds come down on the street.''
...Deputy Commissioner Thomas Fitzpatrick, who was in the lobby of the north tower.
''When the south tower collapsed, what we did was we either ran, got blown or fell down. ... I realized we have people up there, the building is loaded with our guys. We got to get them out of there. I tried to call Chief Ganci on the handy talky. I was calling car 3. For some reason we couldn't touch base. ... I was trying to find him, to let him know we still got a lot of people in the north building. We got to get them out of there and that's when tower one came down.''
...Chief Salvatore Cassano, who was at the command post with Chief of Department Peter Ganci, who was later killed after the two were separated. Ganci was the highest-ranking firefighter who died that day.
Apologies for the poor quality dashcam image, but these are now something of a rarity. I ended up seeing it a couple of times, but both times it was on the move.
It appears to have been local from new and had done 87k miles when it passed its MoT earlier this month. It looks to have been unused from 2014-16 before being returned to the road, which suggests to me it has a caring/enthusiastic owner.
Edit: Saw it again today!

Shoot Sunday 9: Here's my very inappropriate Shoot Sunday photo... Kaycee brought up the idea of recreating Blink 182's super famous Enema of State album cover, and I decided to take it another, perverted step further...

Últimamente me suelo quedar atascado con muchas fotos y directamente van a la basura.
Esta foto sin embargo creo que el virado costo 5 minutos, su simplicidad, su forma de espiral y su similitud con el número 9, simplemente me atrae.

Don’t rely on someone else for your happiness and self worth. Only you can be responsible for that. If you can’t love and respect yourself - no one else will be able to make that happen. Accept who you are - completely; the good and the bad - and make changes as YOU see fit - not because you think someone else wants you to be different. – Stacey Charter

Week 9, February 24 - March 2:
We spent Wednesday 'til Friday in Frankfurt am Main, exploring the city, shopping, visiting the German Architecture Museum and literally standing on top of the world. The skyline was fascinating, especially at night. Standing on one of the many bridges, metres above the river Main, overlooking one of Germany's largest cities is a sight I'll never forget. (More and more.)
I'll be doing an internship at an engineering office for the next 5 weeks (aka until the new semester starts) starting tomorrow. Just thought I'd let you know. It might affect my creativity, which - frankly speaking - I seem to have buried a while ago anyway. But enough for that... I'd love to know what you guys have been up to?!

not much time for the project this week...but i managed to capture berit taking a moment to enjoy the spring-weather! (we still have snow, but not everywhere)
I know you're probably thinking, "Enough already!" I'm almost finished, though!
Anyway, I also had a carriage for the 9 pounder that was very similar to the 12 and 18 pounders', but it looked slightly ridiculous so I fell back on this one, even though it is too wide.
