I was treated to a line up of Great White Egrets this morning -- 9 of them were close enough together for me to catch this 😊
A fenced front garden, snapped with a Super-Takumar 85mm f1.9.
This didn't need a colour boost - indeed, I've toned the red tulip down a bit and added some vignette. HFF!
A lot of the French towns and villages are built on a hill, with the church at the top. This wasn't the prettiest one we saw but it was the one most isolated and visible from miles around. We moored our boat with this view and watched the sunset from the roof (of the boat).

I was out exploring with a couple of friends one day and we came across this structure. I loved the textures and coloring of this building.

The Bank Holidays over Christmas 2021 saw a large rail replacement bus operation covering services between Farnborough, Woking, Weybridge, Aldershot, Guildford and Basingstoke. As a result, a large number of vehicles were out and about and I snapped a few in Farnborough, Guildford and Woking.

Out to a local large Shopping area called River Park for a food and wine tasting with entertainment. Thought these ladies were so cute. There were many of them.

The yard was alive with birds today. All of the usual suspects, plus the waxwings (fast becoming regulars), plus a hermit thrush and the first townsend warbler of the year. Cedar waxwings, backyard Olympia.

WEBX 2024 is southbound at Iona Island NY on Csx's River Sub on Wednesday 10-20-2021. Owned by Webb Rail LLC, she was headed for NJ for refurb work and was in the consist of Q403. This train was delayed considerably due to having to set out the 60th car in its consist in Newburgh NY. The sun was beautiful on this afternoon as I moved from the Popolopen Creek trestle at Fort Montgomery to Iona chasing the light. The train rolled through Iona around 6pm after the sun had disappeared. Six or more railfans were there to take in the event. 2024 was originally built for the New Haven as their 2058.

I would imagine (and hope) that many, many people will be stopping today to remember the horrific events of 11th September 2001. So many mental images that will never, ever leave our minds and hearts. People from so many different countries, not just the US. So many stories of loss and heartbreak - and so many stories of bravery and heroic actions. Remembering .... all those who lost their lives on that fateful day: all those who lost loved ones and close friends or fellow workers; all those who rushed in to "do their job" or "to help others" in any way they could. Remembering .... all those who were severely injured on that fateful day and who have bravely suffered every day since then; all those Firemen, Emergency Medical people, Police - men and women, who have suffered and continue to suffer emotionally and physically, including illnesses caused by being exposed to harmful chemicals. The list goes on and on. Remembering ... and praying that we never see another day like September 11th, 2001.
