“Á volta do mercado”
Esta fotografía gústame moito porque recolle o traballo constante da muller. Nela está a miña bisavoa Rosalina Costas e a súa veciña Inés, no ano 1962. Fixéronlla fronte ao paso nivel do tren en Porriño, despois de vir de comprar na praza de abastos. Como se pode comprobar están as dúas ben cargadas, non so coa cesta de vimbia senón con outra bolsa chea na man esquerda na que tamén levaban a carteira cos cartos para pagar en efectivo. Esta imaxe é incomparable coa realidade actual, no que á praza vaise cun carriño de rodas para que o peso sexa máis soportable, os cartos son de plástico e na man o que se leva é o teléfono móbil, elemento imprescindible na nosa realidade actual e virtual.
Por iso coido que estas imaxes son parte do patrimonio inesquecible que permite manter a lembranza dun tempo, non tan longo, no que a concepción da vida, os costumes, os traballos, as relacións, etc. mudaron dun xeito tan radical que a fotografía pasa a ser un documento histórico gráfico infalible para manter a memoria viva e poñer en valor e recoñecemento a aqueles, os nosos antepasados, que noutros tempos aportaron con valentía e esforzo o que puideron para acadar o nivel de benestar ao que entre todos chegamos.

Haden and I were having fun taking some silly pictures and they reminded me of when you sit in the photobooth at the mall.

So I am getting back up to date with my 365.
One of my goals is to actually take a photo everyday and hopefully post one everyday too! Its really hard with school and friends and all of the things I'm involved in.
I would also really like to be a good contact and visit all of your streams! Everyone takes such amazing photos and I hate missing them!

I would consider my eyes to be a grey colour, they change with the light though and sometimes it depends on what I am wearing. In this case my eyes turned green because of the green makeup.

Been in my dorm room most of the day, cooling off from the immense amount of meeting people. I'm an introvert who was just thrown into a sea of a good 800 new people to meet and mingle with. I need some down time!
I feel bad hearing them chatter in the hallway but eh, I'll spend more time with them tomorrow. Right now I just need a break! So...I came up with this idea. Woo. Not very origional but I like cloning myself :D
TRF: Garry got me the Wall-E poster on his second trip to OH. We saw the movie together when we were in CA :) ...twice

Today there was the most awful thunderstorm. Those of you who know me will not be surprised to hear that I'm scared of thunder and lightening, so I didn't enjoy it at all.
It lasted a full hour, and then the hours and hours of rain on either side of it. I was watching the lightning from my office window and it was hitting the ground right at the high rise flats opposite my work, it was really scary. I was beginning to panic at ten to five when it was still going, as I didn't want to have to go out in it. Thankfully, the thunder and lightning at least had stopped by the time I left work, I just had the rain to contend with.
So home to get into my pyjamas and have some comfort food, which was fab (even if I do say so myself) but only lasted about half an hour before it made me very very ill. I hate not being able to eat dairy!!!
