Ah, the Goomba. One of the most recognizable Mario baddies in the Mushroom Kingdom. Also arguably the most easily defeated, this guy has a spot in every nerd's heart.

This baby is 5 1/2 inches tall by 4 inches wide and is stuffed full of polyfil and love. Who would want to stomp on this guy?

If anyone would like to adopt Mr. Frowny Pants, he will be waiting for you on my Etsy!

Decided to do the Eeveelutions.

Second of eight(Eevee is being included).

Thoughts?

The ref I used had quite a few of the black pieces as light gray, but I thought this looked better.

Back in 1990, when i was 13, my father gave me an Atari 800 xl. This is a (very) Basic program I made using the highest graphical capacity of 300x190 px.

In a tv, the output seems to have pixels in white, red and blue, but the graphic is actually made in just one color.

I made these in about 1980 I think. You can actually buy these for real now. I was ahead of my time...

El más reciente trabajo que hice en Pixel Art, unas 6 a 7 horas de trabajo divididas en 3 días.

Eight of eight.

Finally done with the Eevees. :)

Now, on to requests... Tomorrow.

This is a close-up of a Raspberry Pi 3 processor 'thinking'. Various parts of the silicon chip heat up as they are used for different processes.

This movie was shot in real time whilst running a benchmark to test different parts of the processor. It was filmed using a Therm-App thermal imaging camera with a 13mm f/1 germanium lens, with ThermAppPlus driver software.

The granularity of activity on the processor chip isn't as fine as I'd have expected. You can see from the writing on the IC package that the focus was pretty good, so nothing is getting blurred by any settings of the thermal camera. I guess there's some sort of heat spreading going on inside the package, either just through the silicon itself or perhaps it's on some sort of conductive substrate. (Whatever it is, it's not very thick - the chip package is very slender and, as you can see from the X-Ray image referenced in the comment below, doesn't seem to contain anything particularly X-Ray opaque, like copper).

I was disappointed by the way the temperature display figures came out on the video. But they're just about legible. One day I may re-shoot this using a different recording method so the figures show up better.

The temperature range between the coldest and hottest parts of the chip is about 15°C, so it's not getting particularly stressed. I imagine it would get a bit hotter running really processor- and graphics-intensive stuff. However, it probably wouldn't show up so dramatically: you'd just get one big hotspot.

Made this with Paint, a long time ago

As cute as this is, I get the feeling that the artist probably spent no more than half an hour in its execution.

Pixel art that i made of some scars with various attachments.

The first one is stock

The second one has a smaller magazine, a longer barrel, a bi-pod and a 12X scope.

The third one has a suppressor, an angled fore grip and a holographic sight with a 4X magnifier.

The last one has a bayonet, a normal fore-grip and a infrared scope.

Thought I'd try my hand at a Ghostbusters 8bit screenshot. I think this game would be fun!

~I don't think I'm going to do this to much as it's a lot of work and a mother of a big file. Image consists of 7 raw images shot with my D300. I converted each of them to a Pseudo_HDR in Photomatix and saved them out as 8bit tifs. I then used Photoshop to stich them together and did the fine tuning in Nikon Capture NX2. The end file is 200M.

A friend and I stopped by 8 Bit brewery over the weekend and I ordered a flight of their Stouts.

They all look alike but taste quite different.

This is the program I made using Atari Basic when I was a kid. You can change the sum factor of A to get different patterns.

In creating the plant, I based my design on this question: Had it been based on a real living plant, what would it look like?

I used clay, a strengthened wire skeleton and a special mix of acrylics to get the right appearance of flesh (particularly the inside of the mouth).

To see a making-of vid of the the plant, go here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMp4JKcz5kE
