I only had my big 500mm lens with me that day but the shot came out OK just the same!

I went out around the "neighborhood" looking for my cherished burrowing owls. The numbers of burrows and owls have dropped over my decade of enjoyment and thrill though. In fact, I couldn't find any this day. So this one is from 2021. I think it had just been looking up for danger in the skies. Still hoping we'll get another year.

Be sure and check this large. No cropping, no fancy processing, no denoising - just the sharpness of that 600mm prime x 1.4x. With probably even a laptop for viewing, it will be bigger than life size as they're quite small - maybe just 9.5 inches and weighing in at around 5 oz.

Unit grain train GMP2OK 22 (From BN, bound for Oakdale, CA) heads south past a rather phallic rock formation near Jasper. This train already had 2 DPUs on the rear, and 4 more were cut into the middle for the climb over the cascades.
