A captivating close-up of a vintage 1982 Ibanez Musician MC-924DS Electric Bass resting in its original plush hardshell case. This bass is a prime example of Ibanez's golden era of Japanese craftsmanship. The Musician series is instantly recognizable by its premium neck-through construction, which provides exceptional sustain and stability.
The dark, rich body is typically crafted from a combination of woods (like mahogany, ash, and maple laminates), beautifully highlighted by the contrast of the bright gold/brass hardware and the uniquely styled control knobs. Featuring dual powerful humbucking pickups, the MC-924DS delivered a thick, versatile tone that helped define the progressive rock and fusion sound of the early 1980s. This image beautifully captures the instrument's classic aesthetic and its well-preserved, collectible condition.

Last year we went and saw #angelolsen play in Sydney. After the show I noticed she was selling LPs of her latest release. I thought..nice...niche market.... I bought the CD version.
Then about a month later we saw #sharonvanetten and again she was selling LPs of her latest release. This time I bought the LP. Nothing to play it on.
A few months later I finally got budget (from my finance minister) and bought myself a turn table... I pulled out all my old LPs from storage, gave them a wash and now whenever I buy new music its mostly on LP with a download code :-)
...and now I regret not having the LP version of "Burn Your Fire for No Witness"
Music is the soundtrack to our lives...especially when we are young, and growing up almost too fast it seems. The memories are linked with a certain lyric, a melody, a tune you heard on the radio when something amazing or heartbreaking happened. The songs and artists who performed them live forever in our hearts and minds and become a part of us as we travel through lifes rocky roads on our journey to adulthood, becoming more experienced and wise to the ways of the world as we mature into a more balanced version of our younger selves. Still...once in a while we can look back and celebrate those bittersweet years and crazy times past with a mixture of joy, regret, and enlightened amusement remembering how passionate, hyper, reckless, nervous, fierce, moody, cool, and fearless we were as we plunged into the unknown future; yet despite our unsure footing we braved the storms of being judged by our peers, society and the wide world to conquer and become the generation that influences the ones after us. We are the kids of the 80s and we are totally AWESOME, dude...fer sure. ;^)
Onstage were Kin Wilde (my crush) and her brother Ricky. They brought the house down in an outdoor concert held at Audley End, in Essex England. As the music pulsed and the crown punched their fists in the air with a shout ...for a moment I was 16 again and I put on my sunglasses (at night) and lost myself in the bliss of the moment....finding the fountain of youth at last!

This is Roger O'Dell, drummer and founder member of the band Shakatak. Still going strong since the 80's and still touring the world.
I took this picture of Roger during soundcheck. The theatre load in bay doors to the right were open and this is all natural light.
I was working at the Ipswich Regent Theatre in Suffolk, playing guitar with soul singer Simon Chiverton.
Also on the bill were 80's bands Aswad (who supported Simon), Alexander O'Neal and Shakatak.
