The Wolseley 6/80, it revives memories of 1950's Police dramas now only seen on "Talking Pictures".
One of these cars would heel over as it rushed out of Scotland Yard with its bell ringing. It would be driven by an immaculately uniformed officer with the steely-eyed Commander in the back, it was always life and death stuff but the good guys always won and the shifty looking bloke with the pencil 'tash' was bundled into the back.
This one has probably not led such a life, it was photographed in Lowsonford back in the 1970's It is still on DVLA who inform us it was new in December 1952 and has a 2215cc engine, it was around from at least 2008 when it received a new V5C registration document. The car is finished in a very deep metallic green.

In this hybrid Euro-Canadian and Huron-Wendat work, the wax dolls were likely pre-made before clothing and the canoe and paddle were added. Miniatures were an early form of souvenir art. This work offers a rare glimpse into Huron-Wendat dress and customs at the time. The details of the crews’ tattooed and painted faces, the infant in the cradle board, the finely sewn clothing and moccasins, and the stitching on the canoe with spruce root and porcupine quills show the meticulous work of Indigenous hands.

The tiny mountain village of Dorve, in the Pallars Sobirà , looks abandoned and in the path of oblition. But a few years ago they built a metalled road and restored the romanesque church. And when we visited it, a couple or even three houses look restored and even inhabited.
Perhaps new life shall return to old Dorve.
